Benson appears to dislike Schumacher almost as much as you do. He never misses a chance to have a pop at him.

What is a Spaz Superkart? Would you prefer to read the Jackie Stewart article when he almost says the same thing?

"Michael's record in F1, particularly his Ferrari period, was so dominant because the car and engine was unquestionably the best on the grid and there was no doubt about who was number one and got most attention in the team."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19834309
Doesn't he also say, in the same article:

"He's one of the greatest drivers of all time"

He doesn't rate him as the greatest, but rightly or wrongly, JS has always rated those that raced in the 'dangerous days' higher than modern drivers, seemingly regardless of ability.
Drivers also lose marks in the JYS rating scheme if they play dirty or are happy to risk a crash. Funnily, though, when this refers to Schumi, it's sage words from a wise man, but when it's directed at Senna, it's the words of an old fool out of touch with reality. scratchchin

Monisha said today they were never in talks with Michael over a race seat. Did he really have any options?

Just seen another interview on TV news. He clearly stated that he will retire from the Mercedes team at the end of the season but, he rascally added that did not rule out racing.

Anyone also see that ?

It is inexplicable that Kimi would then have run off at the first corner and Alonso would have no choice but to ease off on his one and only lap.
Riiiight, so drivers don't make mistakes. Every action is deliberate, I see.

FFS - he's only retired from F1 - not from racing. He'll be back in something, having fun, enjoying himself.
As I mentioned, I'd be pleased to see him in a Aussie V8, or better still a NASCAR.
But what would make me even more pleased is to see him in something at Goodwood next year, having a hoot.

yikes there is talk of Merc putting up a V8 for next year's series what a horrible prospect.

Or perhaps not - I don't see Craig L, Frosty, Jamie, the Kiwi or the Enforcer giving him too much deference if he did turn up here hehe

Decent drive from 23 to 11 in the Jap GP... I guess the fact he didn't get the 10th place show he's not the force he used to be. I was really excited and hoped he'd make it!

Look at my earlier post - it has the pic of the Merc.
There was also talk of a Nissan too....

Quelle Horrors!

This V8 Supercar stuff can't be that popular that two other manufacturers want to get involved.... surely.... much! ;0)
