Please could you let me know what they are like when driving in horrible conditions in terms of day to day practicallity..meaning how well do the wipers, demister work? Do they suffer from water leaks. Do the electrics withstand deep standing water that you cannot avoid sometimes?...ultimately just wondering how they cope with winter conditions as everyday transport...

Thanks

Planted and solid are two words that come to mind, regarding water there have been some boot/door leaks but these are fixed by taking the car to a dealer, personally the Elise/Exige/Europa you have to be mindful that they are lightweight and no control systems in place and can fall off the black stuff if your not careful, the Evora is just so different in how it feels in the wet it gives far more confidence. I picked mine up earlier in the year and was gobsmacked at just how drivable in the wet it is.

The tyres and management system all help with the Evora I have been through standing water this year, don't think anyone could avoid it and no problems to report

Concur with Toaster, picked mine up from JCT in Leeds 6 weeks ago, then 200 mile motoway drive back to London. The sky's opened up after 10 minutes into the journey, and it poored down for 4 hours. Unbelievable stability and confidence inspiring car and I arrived absolutely dry.
Just for the record, I passed 2 Caymens, 3 Boxters and 1 911' which were all struggling.

Go get one before everyone catches on and the prices start to go up!

Ditto - based on the summer we had, your question should have been, how does it stand up to summer conditions! In all seriousness, coming from my Elise with its "just too slow wipers" and misty screen this is like driving any modern car.

Coming back from Kent one day in April soon after getting the car, I was on the M25 and rain was lashing down. I feel so much happier to be in the Evora vs the elise. The wipers work, it has a rear screen demister, and if you push the front screen demister it automatically puts the fan on max, points air to the screen and turns on the ac. It clears up very quickly. No leaks yet and some of the rain driving over the summer felt like a car wash except it lasted for hours.

I drove through some pretty meaty puddles/lakes but nothing that came up past the bottom of the doors so that’s untested but car feels pretty airtight.

Ps front wipers have a ~6 speed intermittent setting so you can “optimise” to your hearts content!

Glad to hear it's up to it. I'm based in Seattle and have about 9 miserable months ahead of me weather wise...

Agree with all the above, I did have my boot seal fail last winter but I dont keep anything in the boot anyways. I was actually impressed how well it performs in the snow

Not used it in the snow yet, but in flooding, rain, ice... - worked fine. Not driven it through deep flooded water
though, only my local fords.

Tackling snow with snow tires should be fine though. A friend I know did use their Evora with
that configuration and was very impressed.

Wanna know if it leaks or let's water in? Pop ECU entry panel off on the rear three quarter panel behind the passenger seat, feel for the seat belt, follow it down to the reel and extend your fingers into the chamber underneath, this is where water can pool.

Well after all the debating I have gone for an Evora S 2+0..we do not need the rear seats and I would sooner have the storage space. The gearchange was pants, but before I accept the car it is being fitted with the MY12 cables, which are allededly much better. I am also having a couple of cosmetics improvments which will take a wek or two...can`t wait! Not the best time of year perhaps, but will only potter ish around locally...but will look forward to some decent trips next year.
Will also get the exhast sorted aswell. There is so much drama visually with the styling, its a bit let down by its quietness...so that will be the first thing to sort, when I can get over how much it is going to cost!

Congratulations on your imminent purchase, what colour have you gone for and type of exhaust will you be having installed? if you have not got the powerfold mirrors dont forget the simple upgrade

Congrats! Post some pics in the Evora Pron thread once you have it! I would love to know what exhaust you opted for, photos and videos in that thread always welcome!

Cheers

Apologies...my wording is a bit misleading...I will get the exhaust upgraded when I get the car. I will do a bit of research first, but as far as I am aware there are three options...Larini, 2bular, or Jamspeed. There is some stuff on Youtube with sound etc, but in many ways I will have to refer to the various threads as to the opinions about the sound etc.

Congrats on picking the Evora - I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

I've had mine a few months now and it continues to grow on me. We regularly used it in the pouring rain we've had this year and can report no problems. You can drive it pretty hard in the wet with confidence. The feed back from the car is outstanding, you know exactly what's going on with all four wheels at all times. In fact my wife loves driving it in the wet and sliding it out of all the roundabouts in the town where we live ;-)

I went on a run at the weekend with a load of Elises and Exiges. The roads we were on were very tight and twisty with loads of damp/wet bits and a nice coating of leaves here and there. I thought it would be hard work keeping up with the smaller lighter cars but it wasn't at all, the Evora was easy to drive in the mixed surface conditions and very comfy too!

We've got the Lotus sports exhaust fitted and a de-cat done - it sounds great now. Not too loud for everyday use/motorway cruising and a lovely burble on the over run.

Enjoy!

It`s white by the way...not necessarily my first choice, but I am having the front splitter and scollups under the doors done in black (bling perhaps) but it will make it faster and make it appeal to the kid in me!!

There is another option as well if you are willing to import from US, but the option was a bit too pricy for me.

2bular have just launched their exhaust for the Evora. I reckon it'll be the one to go for smile
