Which Exhaust do you have...

So I have been agonising over this for a few months, what (of the many) options will get me what I want. What do I want? Something close to the MY12 I think....

So, Justin220 - just read the latest update to your Evora thread, and noticed you have made some changes to the exhaust - namely the tubular de-cat. As I said above I am considering doing something to mine, but there seem to be so many options! decat, decat plus Lotus (janspeed) exhaust, de-cat plus Larini etc etc, how did you decide on yours and do you have any videos/sound clips available?

Like many owners I totally love it just wish it was a bit "more".

If this thread could become a list of each owner with what they have done and (if poss) a decent clip that would be epic!

I have listened to all the clips on youtube but thre is a such variation and some of them at constant revs sound a little bland - the Larini one for example, although coming from a Larini'd Elise I cant imagine it sounds like that in real life.

Problem with youtube is its not a great representation.

I currently have the Lotus Sports Exhaust and 2bular decat. Admittedly I was a bit disappointed when I first put the decat on, but after a few miles its sounding very nice indeed. Plenty people have commented how 'punchy' it sounds from the outside.

I think my next step would be a 2bular Cat Back as Jim's work is superb!

Have a look over on the LotusTalk forums as there are quite a few other videos and owners who have fitted other exhausts

I looked into various exhaust options myself.

Looking at a car with the standard Lotus sports exhaust, the sound was rubbish and I dismissed that option.
Looking at a car with the Larini sports exhaust, the sound was great.
Looking at a FY12 evora with sports exhaust, the sound was great.

So, I'm going for the Larini sports exhaust option as the best option.

The best sounding exhaust for the Evora is the Kreisseig I think, but its huge money.

That one there sounds very similar to mine. (Hard to tell with a YT vid)

How much money are we talking for any sort of sports exhaust. Mine is only stock and sounds poor unless spanked whilst the sport button is pressed.

I have the Larini with a 3rd cat delete pipe, not overly loud but nice burble and sounds great above 4k rpm.

Here's a very quick video after it had done about 50 miles and taken with an iPhone (crap mic) - sounds allot better in flesh now it's bedded in.

Was about £1100 fitted at Lotus dealer, add a radium cai on top and your car will sound awesome.

Just added one to mine to complete the sound and it sounds the nuts! I'll do a proper video for you.

Awesome, looking forward to hearing the full monty! I used to go tunnel/bridge/underpass hunting in the Larini'd elise, and I wouldnt mind having some of that back!

Other thing to check is that it doesn't bugger up the sports setting.

I think some exhaust systems can do that. Larini doesn't as it was tested
ok.
