I've retested the housing (without the camera inside) 3 times now and each time I get water ingress.

It sounds like a rather shonky design if I have to minutely inspect the seal each time I close it? I would have thought that I should just be able to put the GoPro in, close the door and not really have to worry too much about it.
Definitely sounds like a faulty housing if it's still leaking and doesn't have an obstruction on the seal. Can you see any part of the seal or housing that would allow water in?
After a bit of email ping-pong with GoPro Support (including sending them a YouTube vid of the water ingress and borked camera), they are making a 'one time exception' and replacing the camera and housing.

Can't say fairer than that really!

Just hope they accept the fact that I can't find the receipt, as I bought it in NYC at Easter - have sent a screenshot of my bank statement with the Best Buy debit of $460-odd, so hopefully, that will suffice.

Will update when I get the new one through thumbup

I'm pretty sure that's normal. I always remove the card from the GoPro and use a card reader.
Same here. A USB 2.0 cable transfer is way too slow to transfer a 32GB or 64GB microSD. I use a USB 3.0 card reader.
It's something they've introduced on this 2014 3 white I've bought, but it's not on the 3 Black I have from 2013 as I can cut/paste the files from it. Wish I'd just picked up a 2nd hand 3 black now rolleyes

Never had a problem with download speed from the USB cable and I'm using a hub also - mind you, I use 720p 60 fps and don't get near filling a card up before downloading.

Took delivery of a GoPro Fetch the other day. Was initially very impressed with build quality and apparent ruggedness until today's test.

The straps constantly loosen no matter what and several times the clasps came completely undone. Utterly shocking considering the outlay (£59 + £11 postage from GoPro themsleves).

Can't believe how poor the product is compared to other mounts they sell and I have bought. The Fetch mount is completely unreliable in my opinion unless you fancy tightening it every 2 minutes or are willing to retro fit it with velcro to stop it loosening all the time. My dog also managed to get one of the front straps tangled around its front leg despite the strap being tight about 30 seconds prior to this. Will be emailing Gopro tomorrow about it.

Anyway, here's the first attempt.....

Mine is off to the Netherlands today for repair, fingers crossed they give me a new one! Do they still send out 3s or do they just have 3+?
Just to update this, I got a brand new 3 Black delivered from the US last week. Mine was out of warranty and purchased (in person) overseas too.

I've just booked a glider experience, so naturally have had to buy some GoPro accessories in anticipation.

I confess I've gone for cheap knock-offs though...

Cheap knock-off Frame from eBay for £4 inc P&P

Cheap knockoff head harness for £5.99 inc P&P

Rationale is that if either fail, the GoPro will simply fall in my lap. No harm done.

(I realise that I will probably look like a knob with a GoPro attached to my forehead, but never mind)

That'll be handy when the loose camera falls into the controls or jams something wink

Loose articles and aircraft are not a happy mix.

Well, I will ask permission of the pilot first of course. And if he refuses then that will be a shame because I'd love to record my flight.

But if he says no then the frame will still be useful and the headband might be too.

I'm fairly sure the pilot will know how to use his parachute, question is do you know how to use yours ? hehe

Not a clue.

Hmmm... I'm beginning to think maybe I'm not brave enough for a head harness. Maybe I need a chest harness instead. And then additionally use my compact camera handheld in video mode to get POV footage.

Edit: Or maybe a shoulder strap? I quite like that idea. scratchchin

Edit2: Oh, wait, that's no good. The glider will be using shoulder harnesses to strap me in.

That's quite cool, would be better than the chest mount for cycling footage, I think...

Ask the Pilot when you get there, they will get this asked all the time.

If it was me, GoPro on the front looking back at you (always funny seeing people chunder into paper bags)

Then a hand held camera with IS to get some out the window shots smile

I agree. There's also a neoprene version. I'm not sure which one would be more stable. But it's certainly an interesting mount point. yes

We've had some of the Neoprene ones in and sold them to surfers. Very comfortable and not a chance of the shoulder strap slipping down accidentally. Well worth looking at.

I'd agree with a suction cup on the canopy or maybe even on the wing (looking in). If allowed and if you dare lol.

The latter would be awesome although there would be a risk of losing the camera of course.

These things are awesome...

They use a non-permanent adhesive combined with strong suction cup.
