I hope somebody can help me.

I have a 57 plate xc90 sport.

There is a problem with the power steering. At very low speeds it becomes very heavy and is making parking practically impossible. Also, when turning corners, again at low speed, the steering stiffens and the car is resisting turning.

Has anybody else had this problem ? If so do you know the solution.

Thank you

Have a look on this site and select your vehicle/year etc. There have been loads of recalls relating to the power steering on the XC90, some around the right year for your car

http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.a...

Hope it helps.

edit: check you rubber gaitors on the steering arms as well. Sometimes if tracking has been adjusted they get twisted and then can't compress as much as normal when lock is applied and limit the turning/make it harder

Hello Menjac
I am due to take my 07 plate XC90 into a garage tomorrow with exact same problems as you posted. Did you ever resolve and what was the outcome. Thanks
