Please do! My update is pending but I haven't heard any good news stories yet so I'm unwilling to take the plunge. frown

Mine's back to cool-ish running but it is still guzzling power and not quite reaching full charge.

took about 50% battery to run the upgrade!

Anyway so far the halifax bank app doesn't work. Im sure there will be more.
All email has to go through the gmail app, ok if you like it, stuffed if you don't.

Still waiting for my update - I'm hoping that the battery drain issue isn't a long standing issue as I've only just replaced the battery in my phone. Would be rather frustrating for it to come back due to software this time.

I've now had mine (late Aug 13 purchased n4).
To add some perspective I was very concerned having read some of the issues as my n4 has been laggy with increasing freezes, reboots & battery drain on KitKat the last few months & was certainly having second thoughts on installing.

I'm now 36 hours in with lollipop & extremely happy, the issues I was having, I haven't, with the revision of the keyboard style & the addition of quickpics (thanks for the recommendations) its all going swimmingly & no regrets or desires to roll it back. I had been thinking I may have had to chop it in but *touch wood* it looks like we'll be continuing for the foreseeable.

Got my update yesterday, battery life seems same as before, a few brighter icons and at least the email is all in one now, no longer have 2 separate email windows.
Has lost a few things off my screen but tbh I cant remember what they were so probably not important!

Still, nice to have what is nearly a 2 year old phone running up to date software!

My upgrade finally came through. I wonder if the claims of shorter battery life have anything to do with the new way it manages screen brightness. I'm still unsure how that works because it appears to let you choose the level of brightness you want to see relative to the background and "auto" adjusts the level to keep it there as the background changes.

Is that right?

I'm not sure how the sound levels are affected either. We have ALL or PRIORITY. Where are the priority ones set?

ETA: I understand the priority sound level now - found a note on the web here: -> http://www.computerworld.com/article/2848834/andro...

Also - I'm curious whether this update will cure my N4 of its intermittent hanging. I can see (above) that mine wasn't the only one to suffer this.

I sideloaded 5.0 2 weeks ago. So far so good and feels like a new phone and is very mooth. But that was with a Factory reset and cache wipe, a few strange oddities every now and then but I think that more down to Apps not the O/S.

I got my update through on Tuesday evening (September 2013 purchase).

Other than having a load of apps to update afterwards and a few menus to trawl through after pre-reading this thread, I've not had any issues.

Any other suggestions to resolve it?

I upgraded last night.

I thought with Lollipop the notification bar and button areas at the bottom of the screen were supposed to be opaque rather than black - certainly looks that way from screenshots but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Have I missed a setting or something?

You need to download the Google Now launcher to get the opaque areas. Other launchers are available !

Thanks that worked smile Shouldn't that have been installed when I upgraded to Lollipop?

Just grabbed it from the Play Store and it's done the trick but I'm kind of surprised it wasn't done automatically?

Has anybody any experience with the Nexus 4 and Audi MMI?

I can pair the phone to the MMI, and see on the Audi display, I can find & scroll through contacts, but as soon as I try to call a contact the audio only comes over via the handset, not through the car speakers. Likewise, if I receive a call the handset will ring but not display via the display, nor can I then answer the call.

According to Audis website the phone was compatible with firmware 4.2.2 but I'm on 5.0.

Any ideas? I'm stuck. I had an iPhone 5 before and everything worked fine.

Thanks.

OK, so a few months ago I bought a "genuine" LG replacement battery from fleabay. Today it struggled to stay on for 5 hours, gmail taking 26% of the power over that time. Its running 5.1 as of last night and its really starting to piss me off that its unable to make it to the evening without sticking it on the charger.

Has anyone got a trusted supplier for the bloody batteries? I questioned the seller when I gave feedback as it didn't arrive in a LG package, some spurious display bag.
About time stuff like this was addressed by the bay as its blantant misrepresentation and just not on.

I bought my replacement battery from http://www.replacebase.co.uk/ - came in a generic black antistatic bag with manufacture date of september (or around there) this year.

I honestly can't tell any physical difference between it and my old one but it is holding a much better charge than my last one.

Hope that helps because all I did in the end was take a punt that they were genuine.

To the guys credit I contacted him and he is sending another foc. I will watch it with interest as to how long it lasts and if no good will order one from the link. Thanks for that. As you say, its a bit of a punt and you never really know these days as to whether it's the real thing or not.

I've been on 5.0 for a couple of weeks and it's suddenly become very buggy.

Phone doesn't always lock.
WiFi has to be forced to connect.
Hangouts won't let me write a text.

Was hoping for a 5.0.1 update but when I go to the check for updates page it just shows a white screen for a couple of seconds and then goes back to the menu.

Any ideas short of a factory reset?

Gone into my battery usage and its showing Gmail has used 55% of battery and failed to make it through the night from 100% at 9pm, shut down at 3am.

Uninstalled and updated again, apparently Im not alone with this issue, 5.1 has removed the option to set the frequency it checks for new mail.
I'll see if it improves any...
