Elite: Dangerous
Discussion
The programme upgraded tonight, so went on for a little go. Arrived at Crampton Port, got permission to dock and found my pad, however, the docking scanner never switched over and I then got a warning for loitering. Tried everything to get it to switch over, then thought I'd cancel and resubmit the docking request. Bad idea! I barely got to the entrance before I was blown to bits.
Moral of the story, don't cancel your request to dock whilst still inside the station, you won't get out alive!
Quick q then, the ship insurance which allows a restart after being destroyed, seems to be automatically free, is that the case or do you pay for it in some way? Also I now have a bounty on my head for the above incident, but it says 'dormant', does that mean it goes away after a period of time?

If you have the free sidewinder you insurance will be free but you need to get the original craft back if you want to keep the credits you made! If you upgrade your craft you need to look on the right hand menu under status and click reputation panel a few until you see the finance panel comes up and it will tell you how much your insurance rebuy costs for me is 64k

You have to be close to the planet to scan it also! If you want to know what system you dont have any information bring up the galaxy map and click on the view tab and click on the map view instead of the realistic button. Then click on the show by colour pull down and choose by cartographics shop and all planet will appear red showing all system that you have no information. When you visit them you need to visit all planets, sun one by one and identify them once close to them! To sell the information you need to be atleast 20 Light years away from system to sell the data.

Might be out of range of the scanner, the basic one is a bit crap, the best one is hellish expensive. I have an intermediate one
You can actually see them if you get some speed up, and are looking in the right direction, anything reachable will appear to move relative to the starfield, it's a bit of an unreliable method though, since you might be looking the wrong way, but it's satisfying if you do spot something.

1. self-destruct (ie don't run out, fit a fuel scoop)2. Black Market is only for stuff that is market as stolen (stuff that you have scooped), if you go on the galaxy map, view(iirc)>map then set it to show routes and set it to only show battle weapons and arrows will appear on the map where npcs are taking the commodity.
Cobra and the viper are a lot better than the eagle, cobra offers a lot of options.

There was an emergency beacon so npc or player can rescue you with a top up or kill you for your cargo! Can't remember how to activate it! Some cargo are illegal to enter certain station the battle weapons can get sold to certain stations!
look at the staton for prohibted comodities otherwise you will be fined on enter station!

Yeah 96% I think,It is tricked out, nearly all A quality, medium beam lasers, small multi-cannons. I kill eagles & sidewinders on the first pass in a couple of seconds with the beam lasers..

I love the eagle though as it's the most maneuverable, and most fun to fight in IMO. I've bought one in the system where the slave rebellion is just to go dogfighting, I swap back to the cobra to actually go anywhere

I imagine an adder with a railgun could be quite fun I love the eagle though as it's the most maneuverable, and most fun to fight in IMO. I've bought one in the system where the slave rebellion is just to go dogfighting, I swap back to the cobra to actually go anywhere
