I really need to grab a photo of the Ford Explorer I see around the Pangbourne area now & then.

It's actual plate is P 10 RER, but they've added an EX in half sized font immediately before it and squeezed the whole lot together so you get: EXP10RER

Indeed it is. A lot more OTR currently. I am beginning to think that the DVLA have substantially given up.

Has the DVLA ever been bothered about misrepresented plates?

If they were at all concerned, it would be so easy to set up a system for them to be reported.

The account asking is a piss take one but the official DVLA account is replying basically doing do it yourself. They should be replying hey you can't do that.

Minor transgressions re spacing. But just WHY?

Each of these would look pretty good (much better, even) if properly spaced.

Or have I missed some deep and significant meaning?

His name is Moore. He has always been called 'Moorey' in the tradition of adding a 'Y' after a name. See 'Smithy', 'Jonesy', 'Browny', etc ad nauseum.

Saw M155 YOU on a 1 series BMW last night. Wasn't illegally spaced as no need and didn't look hideous to be fair.
Should be in the other thread?
This thread needs a sticky at the top of every page: "To qualify for inclusion on this thread, plates must be either: 1. Mis-spaced. 2. Have extra screwcaps/hardware/marks to change the lettering or add punctuation. 3. Use an illegal font or have the characters butchered in some way."

Yes that does make me a thread Nazi but seriously, a good few examples on this page alone have absolutely nothing wrong them.

Dear Centurion07,

It matters not whether the plate is altered in some way, or just a personal plate that is legal. What we are celebrating on this thread is the vanity, arrogance, insecurities and low self esteem of the plate owner.

Been getting a lot of humour from this thread and agree I don't get miss-spacing, adding screws etc however I'm not sure how you can establish that someone is "vain, arrogant, insecure or have low self esteem" from a number plate ?

That^.

That said, it didn't immediately click a 1-series wouldn't have been wearing that plate from new so yes, scrapes into the thread. wink

Cropped down pic from the dashcam this afternoon. I assume E74 is the remnants of "Because Race Car" or a quarter mile hero at Santa Pod a few weeks ago, given the fade and no effort to remove since it was painted on hehe

JA11 ESC - JALLES C confused Or alternatively I wonder whether it's a rather poor effort at JAMES C?

What is wrong with either of those?

It must have been said a million times that this thread is for mis-spaced and butchered numberplates. Neither of those qualify.
