She's oiled, S&P'd and warming in my oven, it's off, but if I left it out the dog or cat would get it!

I thought the lighter was to cook it with. You know - nice little 'personal BBQ' sort of thing.

Well guys, the words you never want to hear when trying to consume almost a kilo of meat were uttered "I'm not that hungry".

Result, that meant more for me, but in reality 31 oz of steak was too much for one man to handle. So with much regret I have to inform you of the hideous splitting of the meat. One glorious piece of meat became two. Even the cows down the road were disappointed.

Cooked for 5 minutes (as it was starting to go black) and rested for 5 minutes still gave it a lovely finish.

A little raw for my other half, I say a little, it was raw, down it went!

I would gladly eat fillet that rare, but other cuts like rump/rib etc needs just a little bit more cooking.

Well, so long as you enjoyed it and it was cooked how you like it, then that's grand. But for me that would be too rare. Each to their own and all, obviously. smile

Just picked up tomorrow's dinner, a lovely rib of beef... It's 3kg, and cost me £42. I'm doing the full roast with home made Yorkshires etc. Can't wait!

Looks lovely. Has the bone been cut at the bottom to aid carving?

That looks great Cali. I see they've chined it for you. That'll make it easier.

Looking forward to seeing your uploads.

Last nights tea, pan fried teriyaki duck breast with Singapore noodles and shiitake mushrooms, along with an Asian sauce of garlic, chilli, ginger and a mix of soy, sweet chilli and black rice vinegar and lime juice!

Oh, and extra fresh chillis on mine too!

Encrusted with a mix of wholegrain mustard, salt, flour and a dash of ketjap manis, cooked to 135c and now resting while I do the rest of the meal. Made the Yorkshire pudding batter earlier today.
