A german guy at work would like a Tuscan or T350 and seems to think a few have had Turbo's fitted. I own a SP6 and can't say I have ever heard of one. So is there one? Is anyone doing one? and why not if the answer is No.

As far as I know, no. Although the idea has been talked about. more learned fellows here will I am sure have more info.

Just in case you did not know, Str8six have built a SC sag, but do not foresee it as a marketable option. If money no object though....

Ah yes forgot about Pascal, he is getting a turbo fitted at Racing Green if I remember rightly? maybe this is what he was thinking about but it is not up and running yet is it?.
Wonder why it hasn't been done before?, maybe the early SP6 were to fragile but with the rebuilt engines proving to be strong from Power,st8six and Racing Green I wonder if we will see Turbo's in the future?.

Any reason why you can't fit a Turbo or why no one has done it?

I have never driven a Turbo car except a few diesels so can't really comment on how well they drive or if it would work in a SP6.

I believe that the modern intelligent management systems make the running of a turbo set up more reliable. The system on Pascals was born out of the Ricer market so is extremely good at controlling boosted engines and making sure it runs optimally at all points.

Added to this I believe that modern turbo tech itself has improved greatly so the power application is now far smoother.

Modern ceramic cooling fans and coolant fluids also keep the temps down.

And various builders have the right internals to handle the power.

So, to get a very smooth useable boosted S6 is simply just a matter of money. wink

Yes, I used to have a supercharged engine before, which is now being rebuilt into a turbo engine.

Last thing I heard from it is that the camshafts were somewhere stuck with the customs. That was a few weeks ago...

Why hasn't it been done before? I guess due to the fact that there is a lot of custom fabrication involved.

To give you an idea, here's a pic of just the exhaust manifold:

And that's only the part of the exhaust to where the turbo is located (in front of the engine). From there the pipes go underneath and backwards...

Thanks Pascal, certainley looks like a lot of work and expense to get a turbo fitted to a SP6.

There's a reason why things are taking so long to build on mine.. The only thing still standard on it, are some shims...

Duramax in a sports car

OK, technically it's a muscle car but still:

Regardless of the performance, it just looks wrong to me...
