So, the re-build has begun. woohoo

I've been pondering on the arrangement of the washers, spacers, etc... on the front upper wishbone. While searching, I found this thread:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

That has helped with the arrangement (I had misplaced the top hat spacers) but it strikes me that the plastic washer/spacer, closest to the chassis isn't needed. Is that correct, especially as it would need to be cut down to fit anyway??

Did you source the washers etc. sorry for not getting back to you about them. Can still stick them in the post? I followed the drawings of the suspension set up

http://tvrcerbera.co.uk/Gallery/displayimage.php?p...

But even the fitting together of it all isn't that straight forward and doesn't make sense.

No worries, I got a couple of packs with the bolts I ordered. smile

Yeah, I've followed the pics there, it fits and even sort of makes sense... Apart from that plastic spacer/washer closest to the chassis???

The spacer was definitely needed on mine - the whole thing would slop about without it. But then my shock bolts seemed to have been a different size to yours so yours may well be subtly different!

OK... The plot thickens.

I ordered in some new top-hat spacers but I'm not sure if they have sent the correct sizes??? Are the 2x top-hat spacers, you fit either side of the bush, supposed to be the same size or are you supposed to have 2x different sizes per bush??

Originally, mine had the 2x top-hats of the same size fitted but I'm not 100% sure it was set up correctly as it was a bit 'bodged' in places!! However, ISTR reading somewhere that the V8s have both top-hats the same size where as the Speed6 has a larger spacer on the side closest to the chassis.

Can anyone confirm?

To further confuse matters, these links show the same part (C0410) but if you look at the images, they're both different???

Confused??? You will be...

Mine's a '98 4.2, so that sort of confirms what I'm thinking. scratchchin

Mine is a September '98 4.2 and definitely didn't have the racing green version of the CO410, if that helps. If you'd posted this 2 weeks ago I could have photographed mine, but the body's back on now!

Cheers, that's another one confirming what I thought.

Hey ho, will have to wait a couple more days before I can finish assembling the upper wishbone.
