im sure im late to the party but watched the Lego movie at the weekend.

awesome. very funny - more adult jokes than kids ones, i thought.

batman was great as was 80's spaceship man. spent most of the film looking for figures i had when i was little.

8/10

Gone Girl - no way near as good as the hype. 6.7/10 and an ending that was both dragged out and unsatisfying all at once.

Also - saw in Swindon (dont ask) - the lights came on the SECOND the credits rolled and people jumped up and left.....with 2 mins the place was empty and the credits where still showing actors!!!
Is this is Swindon thing? Does something happen at 11pm???

Prisoners - watched this on Amazon Prime.

"When his daughter and her friend go missing, Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) decides he must take matters into his own hands as Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) and the police pursue multiple leads but come no closer to finding the missing girls. However, as the pressure mounts Keller s desperation increases and he is forced to take the law into his own hands - but just how far will he go to protect his family?"

Liked it a lot more than I thought (I knew my wife would love it, as she loves stuff like Waking the dead/Silent Witness-type dramas)

Very well acted from all concerned, quite dark throughout, but a satisfactory ending, I thought. Recommended.

Good movie, though I found it completely unrealistic.
Wolverine didn't use his claws once.

FWIW, I'm not one of them. Didn't really enjoy the movie tbh. I like JGL and Scarlett but they didn't do it for me in this movie.
For me, the scenes regarding porn and picking up girls were very funny.

The last 1/4 was cheesy, cliché and somewhat of a let down but overall I'd consider it enjoyable and above average.

FWIW, 81% on Rottentomatoes.

I blame their low-budget. wink

Looking through the rifle scope, and the caps are still covering the scope's lenses. hehe

Didn't expect to like it after reading the synopsis but was actually pleasantly surprised. Some good LOL scenes, ending was cliché but expected (he'll be back on the porn in 3 months!). Not bad at all. 7/10
Seriously,it's not a 7. 2 or 3 at most.
yep, watched this in cinema with no pre-conceptions, quite enjoyed it, an original style, smart dialogue, not a DVD buy but a solid 7 for me

Watched Lost In Translation the other night. Saw it a few years back and didn't care for it. Has aged well as I enjoyed it this time round.

Sex tape 6/10

Funny in places but the story line lacked imagination and i predicted the outcome of the entire film in the first half an hour. However seeing Cameron Dias half naked in some scenes is probably why it got a 6.

Xmen - days of future past 8/10

Really enjoyed this film. Thought it was cleverly put together and also explains the old ones a bit more.

Is this now a thread to rate any movie you've seen? Full of "6" and "7", instead of really advising movies you thought were genuinly good?

I think anything over 6 can go in here (one persons opinion of a hum-drum film might be different to anothers) but anything under 6 should be considered for the other thread!

Saw a brilliant documentary (just released) in the cinema.
Called "The last Days of Vietnam". Hypnotic stuff about the US withdrawal and those who were left behind. Brilliant 9/10

Just watched Edge of Tomorrow on Sky Store.

Quite entertaining in a "Terminator/Aliens/Groundhog Day sort of way.
