I watched Child 44 last night, i was quite impressed, a reasonable story although the dodgy Russian accents meant we had to really listen to what they were saying, a solid 6.5/10.

+ not a masterpiece, but overall good watch. I'd say it's better than the book.

I thought it was a good film although I'm not sure I'd be in a hurry to watch it again. the dialog was hard to follow. It has an impressive cast though. Always like to see Paddy Considine and there's something about Noomi Rapace, I can't take my eyes off her. Not conventionally hot but alluring and she can certainly act.

I'd say a solid 7 / 10 overall.

After some really rough events, a former boxing champion has to fight harder than ever before to regain both his title and his family.

Absolutely brilliant, Jake Gyllenhaal has really stepped his game up, his last two movies have been epic. The acting was stellar throughout and the child actor who played his daughter was phenomenal.

Its sort of a mixture of Rocky III, Rocky IV and Rocky V - except a lot more serious and realistic.

My only complaints are that when he goes to train, essentially starting from the beginning again, he gets taught all the basic defense moves again - as if a bloke who had a world title would need to be retrained the absolute basics that even I know!

Don't watch a trailer for this, it gives away a big plot point!

8/10
^^^^ this.........girlfriend and I went to the Cinema last night to see this....... EPIC!!!!!
Has to be the best film ive seen in a LONG time!!!! Jake Gyllenhaal was absolutely brilliant!
Girlfriend loved it also and i'd say 90% of the females in the Cinema cried at least 6 times on different occassions with the male percentage trying their best not to do the same! Can't recommend this Movie enough!

I'll be honest, I let out a couple of tears when he wasn't even allowed to hug his daughter during the first custody hearing - and again in the childrens home when the daughter was hitting him, saying she wishes it was him who'd died frown !

Just in the right mood for a long slow moving film last night so finally watched Gone Girl

Loved it great performances. I'd heard the ending was something spectacular so I hadn't read any spoilers but was expecting some sort of carnage at the end.

I loved the ending that guy is seriously fked lol. And right at the end when he put his hand on her head and says what are you thinking and she looks up. Jesus she looked fking batst mental. Fit and can act.

A Single Man

Wow pretty blown away by this, not surprising its running 7.6 on IMDB. Colin Firth, the best acting I have seen from him, Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival.

Check out the top user review on IMDB, I totally agree.

I enjoyed this film too, uber stylish which is no bad thing, and an excellent performance from Firth.

Have you seen W.E? I thought it was very good.
