Managed to get into a reservoir today until some nice man from Southern Water told me to get the fk out (quite literally)

Apparently anglers only!

Barmouth bridge. I've wanted to ride the Mawddach Trail for years. It's my favourite part of our island.

Had a lovely Hunter's Chicken with my family, and my brother and his family, at the George pub at Penmaenpool toll bridge.

A quick stop at the Cup & Saucer on a gloomy afternoon before heading in-land to explore Guernsey.

Was very glad of the compact and 30t rear for slogging up Val de Terres.

I've not been able to use this since my fracture as the stretch from the saddle to the handlebars was too long and caused lots of pain, so tonight I swallowed a few pain killers and went for a ride on the Paul Donohue built 853 tonight.

What was 'Britannia' up to, Scott?

She's not one of MHR's locos, and is a mainline runner owned by the Royal Scot Locomotive Trust. Was there a steam hauled mainline service running from Alton?

Not a clue, I was only there for about 15 mins. wink Might have to take the kids up there again soon though, it's been done up very nicely.

Having a catch up.

This is from a few weeks ago now. Whilst working over in Philadelphia for a couple of weeks I needed something to entertain myself over the weekend, so I hired a bike and found a local club on Facebook.

This was the lunch stop.

An afternoon spin on the CX bike trying to tie in as many local bridleways and farm tracks as possible, some lovely views;

I was vaguely aware of a memorial to a WW2 bomber crew who sadly lost their lives when their Halifax exploded after an engine fire somewhere between Maidenhead and Marlow. While following a bridleway I came across the memorial, and huge crater created when the bomber hit the ground. What hit me was the age of the crew......

Difficult to see, but the crater is in the foreground in this photo;

A memorial wall built by a local Scout group was covered with the national flags of the crew, poppies and information about the flight;

A nice 60 mile ride around the outskirts of Liverpool out to Wigan. Even convinced myself to stop for a brew before climbing up the only big hill in the area. At the top there can be some impressive views out to North Wales but not today, just farmland and heavy clouds. Discovered my phone has a panoramic picture setting while trying to get some good shots.
