As I was quietly spinning along, I was thinking about these NIMBY bds who keep sabotaging cycle events, voting against cycle-friendly things etc. in the Forest, and I thought; Yes. I am using roads near your house for my enjoyment and fitness. But if you don't like it, you can't use our shops. So stay the fk out of Southampton.

Tried out the XC trail at Symondsbury Estate near Bridport on Saturday. It was incredibly muddy and once I got to the top my bike broke, so I had a nice free wheel to the bottom.

"Not sure that I've seen anybody doing that kind of speed along it though,"

Whoops, just reread my thread!!!! I was, of course, referring to road traffic, not other cyclists.....

Not sure how they'll widen this without encroaching into the woods on one side (not likely due to the previously mentioned attitude of the Verderers) or narrowing the road, and that's not going to happen either.
The trouble is it doesn't actually look like a cycle path and I'm sure people don't realise it is so end up on the road.

Before I set out this morning I heard that there would be a street food event on nearby, so chose a route which meant I could stop off for a mid ride snack.

The route was crap, very muddy, but the burger was awesome!

First ride out in a couple of weeks....need to knuckle down to getting some longer rides in, Gran Fondo Conwy is on the 26th April 😱

This Alford and Farndon in a rather blustery Cheshire.

42 miles, not a bad return to training....

Very slow, hot, hilly (2350m) century. Best after the tag-alongs left and I could get my head down. Sick of the sight of lava.. still beats the UK I guess smile

If you're fixing the puncture, why have you taken the whole thing apart? Or were you just replacing the inner tube?

Such a frustrating view. I'd love to hammer it down there.

Back wheel off to replace inner tube, is there another way, like zoolander taking pants off without removing trousers?

I did it on a BMX as a kid, even back then ('80's), I was stopped at the gate half way down and given an almighty bking by the park wardens, then to complete the public humiliation they made me WALK my bike back up the hill to the Copper Horse while driving along behind me in a Mini Metro Van!!
