I think a shorter stem and some better wheels will do me for now, rather than a new bike.
Always the best option, chuck in there some decent forks and a lot of the time people dont need to change their bikes, just get better equipment.

Not strictly today's ride...

A couple from the weekend - Ku-Ring Gai Chase National Park, just north of Sydney...

From a blast round Manly Dam during the week...[url]

And from a hoon around Ourimbah, about an hour north of Sydney, some time ago. Was about 35C and the noise from the cicadas was deafening...

Beautiful ride this morning. Warm, sunny, and not a car in site.

I made my old legs suffer today on a ride from Coniston Water to Grizedale and back.

Nice shot of Eling that Gaz, like the sun poking out. I haven't been able to get out as much as I'd like lately but enjoying the early spring whether when I have got the bike out. This morning near Brockenhurst :-)

Spent the afternoon trying to learn to jump properly, ie using the right technique rather than just flying at the jumps and hoping! ;-)

Best to start small and work up!

First 'proper' ride on my new bike today. So here's a couple of photos from that ride...

A tractor tipped a tanker trailer over on the Crondall to Well road, shortly before the turn for Bentley. I was able to walk the bike through, and look back at the scene. No-one hurt, contents of the tank flowing away down the road, hydraulic fluid leaking out of the back of the tractor, and the two drivers (red Case was towing a crop sprayer) were matter-of-factly going about the process of hooking up strops, presumably to right the thing.

As an aside, I tried to flag down a couple of cars heading for the scene. One gave me the finger (cyclist hater?) and sped off toward the scene. Shame really, as he had to find out for himself why I was trying to warn him rolleyes Second chap, whole different experience. He rolled to a stop, wound down his window, asked if there was a problem, and he thanked me for warning him to take a different route.

Good deed done for the day, I carried on with the rest of my ride...

Frensham Pond

Small ford at the end of Whitmore Vale, a dodgy little single track road with grass growing up the middle of most of it, between Churt and Grayshott.

Devil's Punchbowl at Hindhead. First time up there on a bike since the old A3 was torn up and returned to nature. Completely forgot how 'high' it is, with an almost continuous 7 miles of climbing to get there. Which might go some way to explaining my slow pace around the whole route... https://www.strava.com/activities/274910348

Visited Coed y Brenin on Wednesday and really enjoyed it! Hired a 29er, full suspension Trek Ex6 which was perfect for the job.

First time out for a very long time. Was great fun the old girl still rides great, even if the tyres are less than confidence inspiring!

Test ride on a Niner RIP 9 RDO.

Great blast to ride, but too much travel for my needs or ability ..... Superb bike though.

Apparently it was wet and windy for lots of you today? Can't say I felt the effects of any inclement weather whilst riding to be honest! smile

Had a fantastic 43 mile ride out on Saturday over some fresh roads for a lot of the guys, venturing over to Cow & Calf on Ilkley Moor, then Ilkley Cycles for tea and bacon butties. Howling head wind and rain out, howling tail wind and sunshine back smile

Even the ride up Askwith Moor was pleasant (pic).

From Friday at BPW

I would show you the pictures and videos from Afan Saturday but you might as well look at the border as it was the same colour grey.

You've made that look more appealing than it really is
