I'm designing a flagship Aston Martin for 10 years time to celebrate 60 years of Bond and Aston Martin

do you think the design should include inspiration from previous models, or a new design language? if you do think it should take inspiration from older models which specific ones do you think should be focused on?

what do you think are the most iconic Aston models?

Do you think the vehicle should be more aggressive than Aston's current design language or more elegant?

thanks for taking the time reading this any help would be really appreciated thanks smile

I think you will get a mixed bag here... the younger ones will say more aggressive and the older ones more elegant. The iconic inspiration is also a very subjective one.. I think you wil get MANY conflicting posts in this thread!

My personal view would be a modern twist on a DB5, like the speedster was to the E type Jag?

I'd agree although that may lead to a design too upright for today's tastes. One-77 sort of shows a very modern approach.

Basically keep the headlight silhouette, grille, side vents, haunches and side window profiles and you'll have something that looks like it could fit in the current stable.

That is an absolutely fantastic idea. Listen to this man!!

Can change the windscreen rake and lower the roofline etc. Must not have bling wheels, must have faired in headlights. The grille shape is critical as that defines the brand...

Are you thinking of a coupe or a Volante?

We have younger ones on here?! With the exception of me, George and Adam, I thought everyone else was an old timer? ;-)

Ahhh, aggressive styling, and more elegant, lots of carbon fibre, keep the side vents and grill. Lower, more squat, wider wheels front and back, 4 wheel drive defo, how you would get that around the V12 engine I don't know. Classic seats, the latest vanquish seats looks like something my 7 year old drew. Semi-proper seats in the back, add a hatchback (Vantage / Rapid).

I'm an oldie, but defo want more aggressive styling than more elgant, the db5 looks good, but it truly had it day, move forward, never go back wink

Exactly this. No aggression in the design, just nice flowing curves. No spoilers/diffusers/vents all over it too please.

Oh and silver wheels!
