Some religious bloke not falling to temptation
Discussion
. . . for hyperbole:
"In the fight for the family, the very notion of being – of what being human really means – is being called into question,"
What is it? Vicars buggering children? The church's stand against condoms in an Africa ridden with AIDS? The rant against birth control despite the vast majority of its members practising it? Or the advice to scientists not to do their job in trying to find out about the universe?
No. Somethng far, far worse it would appear.

Ex-nazi in lecturing people on the value of the family shocker.
This is the chap who was in charge of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, who essentially kept kiddy fiddling under wraps. Nice bloke to be lecturing on anything to do with morals.Population of planet 1927 > 2 billion
Population of planet 2012 > 7 billion
So that's 5 billion additional people during Ratzinger's lifetime, a period during which homosexuality has moved from being hidden and illegal to legal and for the most part accepted in most reasonable corners of the world. If that's an attack on the future of humanity, it's a pretty rubbish one.
I'm not sure how seriously I can take lectures about the future of the species from a man who believes humanity started from a man and his genetic male transgender clone and whose career dictates celibacy.
