Mrs lazy_b and I have just booked our favourite apartment in Moraira (Costa Blanca, about an hour's run from Alicante airport) for two weeks in April. The apartment is central, within strolling distance of as many restaurants, shops, cafes, and bars as we want.

Previously we have rented a car at Alicante airport, only to find that we didn't need it once were in Moraira - we only used it to travel to and from the airport. This year, we are considering a transfer service - either taxi or shuttle bus - instead.

Any recommendations? Reliability and comfort are most important; low price is a bonus smile

There is (usually), plenty of taxis at Alicante airport.

We spent our honeymoon in Moraira in 2000 and loved it so much we bought a house there. smile

Friends have used these for airport transfers:

Roughly an hour and twenty minutes depending on traffic at a cost of approximately €110.

If you don't mind me asking, where is your apartment?

Thanks for the suggestions - a couple of other people I know have also suggested those two taxi companies.

The apartment (I wish it really was "our" apartment wink ) is pretty much opposite the castle. We like it because of the view over the bay.

I've always used a private transfer that I've been very happy with, a guy called Ben www.MyAlicanteTransfer.com. The rates are also the cheapest I've found, and I've done my comparison shopping. Hope that helps.
