I'm curious. Now that I've come out of the closet, I'll move onto my question.
I leave the sport button on most of the time when driving my db9v. Is this ok? Also (and that it matters hugely), does it use more fuel? It's so much better to drive with the button on.

It's a DB9, who cares about the fuel consumption wink

It's better "all round" in sport mode IMO

I think the Sports button only changes the set up of the gear box, I think it tells you that it changes the set up of the accelerator, but I have not seen that at all. I do feel how it changes the gear box though.

Yes it will increase your fuel consumption because it will hold it in lower gears longer, however, you need to look at it logically. Your consumption is something around 15mpg? using the sports button may take it down to 14mpg ....... so what ..?

At the end of the day, if you enjoy driving with the sports button and it makes you feel good, just keep on doing it .....! biggrin

Thanks fellas. There was of corse a wee typo in my original post. I meant to say 'not that it matters' wrt fuel. I can live with a 1mpg drop. It does feel like I get better throttle response though. Anyway, I love it so its staying on!

I always thought it was a pretty pointless button, it's always the 2nd thing I press when I get in the the car (the 1st being the start button). It would make much more sense to have the sport setting as standard and an economy button for those that miss the point of having an Aston
driving

Edit: fwiw I get around .2 mpg better economy in sport according the dash display

That is because your power to weight ratio has altered Steve.

ie. you've crapped yourself.

I improved the power to weight ratio tremendously with my BMW by getting out of it whilst it was still in reverse - seemed to accelerate like st off a shovel, didn't end well though. frown
