The current Mrs quite likes my full beard however is less keen on the irritation it causes when we ae kissing, so my question is, is there a product available that can soften the hairs in my beard.

No pictures...well not that I'm posting anyway
And no...not kissing her isn't an option

Her face will adapt to it.

I used to work away for 3 months at a time and it took her a week or so to get used to the roughness of it, now it doesn't bother her at all.

Conditioner?
If it works for hair it should work for beards

It's certainly a clue- beards feel bristly because you trim them, meaning that the ends of the hairs are always thick. If you let the hair grow out so the hair gets like normal hair (with a thin end) then it'll feel softer.
