Terrible news. One of the guitar heroes not enough people knew. By all accounts an endearing guy too.

I'm going to try to get on his last tour. I meant to see him last year when he toured with Norman Watt Roy & forgot to get tix. If he tours this time, as he says he's going to, it'll be the show of shows for me.

Awful news. I saw him a few years ago supporting The Stranglers, and he came to a local jazz/blues festival last year and I saw him again. Great gig.

Far and away my favourite guitarist since the passing of Mick Green. Seen him on so many occasions from '79 at Reading and at Essex University, to last year at Bury Apex. Met him twice when he was supported by my brother's band and my younger brother interviewed him last year for a music mag.
Quite capable of cranking out a standard R'n'B or Rock'n'Roll riff when required, his style (nicked from Mick) is instantly recognisable. Here he is on two of my favourite Wilko efforts. The first a great Dylan cover and the second a 2:55 Wilko gem.

I wish him well for whatever is in store for him. frown

Awful news, remember seeing Dr Feelgood at L'pool Stadium way back when. ( 1970's)

Lee Brilleaux went much too early as well.

Talking of whom, http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/shortcuts/2012/apr...hehe

I'll gladly stump up a contribution for that, how about 4 300 foot high statues of the whole band?

Sounds good to me. But where to stop? Shouldn't Gypie have one too...what about other legends? Micky Jupp MUST deserve one! LOL!!

Recall back in the day his support for my Mums campaigns regarding the oil refinery / wildlife on the island. Appearance on the Jools show fairly recently and in great form. He will receive tremendous support for this personal battle on his hands.

I fully intend being at KOKO. It will be a day I've dreaded ever since Lee died. But (unlike The Apex in Bury last year) I fully expect EVERYONE to be bouncing!
