Looking to take Mrs Y3k away for a weekend possibly in London and have started the trawl for hotels. I'd like something a little different than the usual. Thinking back to a long time ago when I had some work in Canary Wharf and was put in in the Sunborn Yacht Hotel ... http://www.expedia.co.uk/London-Hotels-Sunborn-Yac...

It doesn't seem that it's there any more, so can any PH'er recommend something similar ?
To be honest it doesn't have to be London either, just something within 2hrs of Swindon that is 'different' and the area has plenty to do during the day.

Try this place:

It's in Bethnal Green, not everyone's idea of a dream hotel location, but it's close to town and well connected. Plus the Corner Room restaurant in the hotel is brilliant.

Had a meeting here last week and the lobby & bar areas were different, understand the rooms are nice with lots of tech. This one is just south off the river but in walking distance of the Tate Modern and the wobbly bridge across to St Pauls.

Check out the Jimi Hendrix suite at the Cumberland, something very different. I'm staying there at the end of March.
