The "new" Audis we're seeing around Bristol - ex-demo cars from Audi. That's right, used and very cheap.

New BMW X1s coming soon - not shifting to the public, being punted out to Police by BMW for less than a Focus. I do wonder if some of the Olympic fleet vehicles are ending up doing this too?

Just so when people start bhing you know they're shopping around

I was rummaging through the GPS info the other day.

Apparently the government had let a contract via E auction for 18,000 new cars, from memory the cars worked out at less than 7k each.

Lots of them about but mainly as unmarked cars.

Saw a lovely XF demonstrator a week or two ago. Cheaper and better than the 530Ds currently on fleet according to the traffic guys.

Doubt we'll get them though.

Interesting, didn't know that. I've seen the OV10... marked one around but thought it was a demonstrator.

There's an unmarked A6 in Cardiff which always has 3 blokes in it and always seems to be going like the clappers. I have no idea who's in it but doubt that it's traffpol.

Guy in the Midlands Motorway group says they're fantastic and drive at speed better than the 530d but just too many reliability issues.

ARV crew I chatted with are taking one to replace their elderly X5. Would have done so already but the snow meant hanging on for another week or two

You're not watching the right TV programmes - they often star in footage shot in Derbsyhire.

out of interest been offered a 2008 diesel octavia vrs for 5k with 60,000 miles on, ex police car, are they well looked after guys?

Well serviced and well maintained maybe, but they've had a hard life!

Expect to get a bit of use out of it, but then expect it to need some work to keep it running. Odd that it's only got 66k on it.
