V8 Vantage door handle corrosion
Discussion
I have a 2007 (56 reg) V8 Vantage 4.3. There is corrosion about the door handles. I gather this is a known production fault. I have had the car from new and paid for extended warranty. Aston have only offered £250 towards a total bill of £1850, despite it being acknowledged as a manufacturing error. Has anyone had a decent deal from them? I am thinking of selling the car, should I get the work done first?
Go to a decent bodyshop yourself and get a quote. Will probably be less than you have been quoted even with the 'AM' contribution.
Well known issue with piss poor preparation of the cars before painting. Its not corrosion its paint defect so not covered by the corrosion warranty.
I got no help from AM - even went to the factory and talked to them. My dealer was less than useless, didn't even give me a quote for repair even though from the Dealer Principle and the Service Director told me they would. Tossers!!!
Love my Aston, but the experience is severely let down by useless dealers.

I had corrosion around 1 handle and Stratstone too said they would contribute towards the cost i think i had to pay £300 and them the same.I said would it make any difference to the P/X price when the time came they said no.
I sold the car to them in Dec and i thought i got a decent price for the car so i reckon i would have lost my money.
Each case is different but if your P/X at that same dealer it's a thought for you.
