Can anyone Recommend a decent ski resort in Austria
Discussion
Afternoon all,
I'm trying to find a resort/area in Austria for a week, (W/C 16 March), having never been to Austria before im struggling to find a decent area to go. Ideally looking at somewhere quite high, and fairly large, If anyone has any knowledge/advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to state the obvious and say St Anton.
Attractive town, great bars and shops, very lively, big ski area with another big area of Lech a 15 min bus ride away. Plus a train station if you fancy a trip to Innsbruck.
The slopes also host the infamous Krazy Kangaroo and Mooserwirt bars, which are simply wild
I liked it, but not as much as the Alps 'Three Valleys' area I have to say.

I don't ski so have no insight into quality etc. but I absolutely love Zella mSee - one of the prettiest and most interesting small towns I've been too.
Certainly does offer skiing as people were doing so in August when we were there. It was really hot and summery down by the lake each day but walking up the road from the hotel up to the mountain - the road/paths literally led straight up to the top of the Schmittenhöheor - or using the cable cars (I stopped part way one day thinking it too much, but did walk back from the top which was an awe inspiring experience) led to the snow line and at the top people were skiing, snowboarding etc.
It was amazing to walk down from deep snow to hot summer weather in half an hour and within a few hundred metres, laterally.
Brilliant place I hope to get back to one day.

Ischgl is good - in a long valley with other ski options also
Solden is pretty good as well
Oburgurgl is the highest resort in Austria, and very nice ( although maybe a bit genteel if you like a lot of apres ski)
Never been to St Anton, but its obviously highly rated
What is it that you are struggling to find in an Austrian resort?

Mooserwirt, #1 favourite bar in the entire fking world.
It's a apre-ski bar you have to visit at least once in your life... That and Le Cap Horn in Courchevel 1850. Both mental for different reasons, but both have to be seen.
