Incoming… what do you have? (Vol. 3)
Discussion
I went here at the weekend: http://awco.nl/
Temptation was strong...
Easiest to resist was the birth year Speedy at €6250
Harder to resist was this Longines http://awco.nl/index.php?taal=1&id=3203&sp...
and although not 'incoming' there is much lust.
Also, they are dealers for Dornbluth in case anyone is interested. They only have two pieces for sale but hold another half a dozen pieces for people to oggle and try on. I tried one on, then another, and was (sorry, Dornbluth fans) very underwhelmed. They are no longer on my list.

Congrats
Cheers... That's the one I've gone for... The 39mm.I recently bought a black dial in the 41mm in a beaverbrooks sale..... And would have gone for the blue all day long but it wasn't on sale...so bought the black just because it was a good price really..
The blue is coming from a chrono24 seller....so we'll see how it goes.. Initial contact seems to be ok....but his website indicated he had it in stock..... Once the order was placed he suddenly only had 41mm which I declined.... So he's said he'll get me the smaller one but it'll be 7 to 10 days..

Nice, well done for making a bold move to something not beginning with B, O, or R â“ although funds may've dictated that already.
The markings are as you suspect â“ it's not a requirement to have a chrono function
Your hatred of Swiss watches is blinding tou The markings are as you suspect â“ it's not a requirement to have a chrono function
The markings are for measuring heart rate, it's a pulsemeter. Gives you the same graduations 3 times on the dial so you can take the pulse at 3 opportunities over a minute (rather than having to wait until the second hand reaches 12 every time).
Never seen that before, very cool.
I've dealt with the Swiss hatred accusation over on TZ, so no need to regurgitate it here, other than to say it doesn't exist.
Anyway, good to learn something new – it's a HRM not a pseudo chronograph function, although I'm at a loss to figure out how the scale works regarding HBs/min.

Wait until the seconds hand is at 0, 20 or 40 secs. Start taking the pulse, count 15 beats and that scale will give you the heart rate of the patient in beats per minute. These watches usually have 'graduated for 15 pulsations' written on them but also they usually only have one scale as they are generally resettable chronographs so always count from zero.
Neat solution having it three times on the dial
It's a 'Doctors Watch'
Well I've ordered my Omega Planet Ocean, I ended up having one of my usual moments I went into the store with the intension of buying the PO with the orange numerals and ended up buying the one with silver without actually knowing I had I got caught up in the moment so to speak and had to call the store on arriving home to find out which one I had actually bought I did ask if they could get the orange one in for comparison but after looking at more pictures online I'm happy with the silver (I think) I think the silver will go with everything though and that the orange numerals take the eye away from the rest of the watch face but I don't think buying either colour would be the wrong decision.
I managed a really good deal to so pictures to follow

It's going to be getting a lot of use, even if it is right at the top end of what my feeble forearms can get away with:

I park my chronograph seconds hand (the big seconds) at the 8 second mark, because I'm funny that way.
Running the chronograph continuously will only slightly slow the movement as it is an integrated chronograph and not a module on a standard movement, and you can run it continuously or leave it parked; whatever is your preference. I set the timing to run slightly fast (aim at 5 to 10 seconds a day) because a new movement generally (but not always) tends to slow by a few seconds as it runs in and I think it always better to have a watch that runs slightly fast so that you're never late for anything.
As and when I get around to making a woman's watch I'll make sure it runs really fast!
Here's mine. Old style hands but I did paint the trident white to see if it looked good.
Hi Lorne, my wife bought me no 49 as a wedding present after I saw them on here and strategically left laptops/iPads open on photos of them. I did have the chronograph running continuously for a while and had no problems at all with it, I now have it parked at 10sec mark because that looked to most obvious place to have it to me. She is now looking for a watch so if you do get round to making a woman's watch then I'll be more than happy to buy one. Any excuse to share a few photos
Hi Ben
Yes, your wife was very keen that I didn't accidentally give the game away! If it's OK with you I'll copy the picture with the tropical background for the 'where in the world' page to go with no 049.
No plans for a girls watch yet, but as and when you feel like it I'll upgrade the hands on your watch to the new set; slight modification to hour pointer, sweep second hand and the running seconds. Running seconds has 3 pointers now instead of just the one. It's a special free service only available to people that have dark blue Audi TT's (my wife uses hers on the school run), and to Pistonheads of course.
