We got a 15% hair cut this week, so everyone is waiting to see who's going to be the first to play Poker and ask for it back or they leave.

Noticed the king of Saudi died yesterday and instead of thinking 'poor guy' my first reaction was to see if the oil price reacted.
I've just been told - no haircut, new work coming in and promotion...

I believe one of those 3. Which one though, I am not sure... Will find out next week.

I thought the same thing about the King of SA, this morning - I've been dumanised by the black gold!

Anyway... Back to watches! I'm liking the updates to your watches Lorne - Was never a fan before but these subtle improvements are growing on me.
special price my friend :-)

Just succumbed to one of these:

Been toying with the idea for a while and with the Euro like it is right now...it would have been rude not to smile

Now the waiting starts.

Nice watch, yes. Still a bit corny though. I can't see a British company trying to pull off such a blatant copy without copping the justified wrath of the masses. I own a Steinhart nav b chrono ii and it's nice but feels 100% replica which is a bit off-putting. Jury's out on Steinhart I feel.

Its a subject that runs and runs. IMO just about every dive watch has elements of either a Submariner or FF

some just have a little more. lets face it 90% of the people will not know the watch it is a c... homage of frown

im good with it, im not going to pass it off as a rolex.

Yes you're right...my comment was a bit redundant really as we're all well aware of what steinhart do. The quality of design and manufacture is very high so that's all that really matters...the rest is subjective.

I do rather like those myself. I'd be interested to hear what you think and see how it wears, as they are quite thick.

My first half decent watch just arrived from Jura watches - Breitling super ocean heritage 42mm . Excellent service and they pre-sized it perfectly for me too.
Got a watch winder free from them which is ideal as I'd wreck it at work, so it sits on the winder at the moment.
Mesh strap is pretty chunky!

Lovely yes

I've looked at the cream dialed 1938 on and off for a few years, never followed through with the idea though and now Stowa have a taken it off their site due to the phasing in of their new logoed dials.

I do have an MO and a Fleiger though, more than happy with both.

Yep, they are a little tall, one of the things I like about them TBH; I have a couple of others that are around the same thickness and you do have to be a bit selective with cuffs if it's a "formal" day for sure, but I can live with that for the sheer pleasure of seeing them each time I check the time smile

Ah, a kindred spirit- it was seeing a 1938 in the flesh that started me down the slippery slope! Toyed with the Flieger too but I'm a sucker for a chrono.

She'd complain about the cost of producing one! I convinced her that building watches was going to be cheaper than my previous hobbies, but I misscalculated a bit.

I bought a CW C60 in their recent clearance sale

When it arrived one springbar wasn't properly secured and it fell off its strap. I couldn't get it reseated (I think the strap had a problem, to be honest, but others say they're notoriously difficult to align), so it went back and, at the same time, I had the rather pale orange strap swapped for a black one as I didn't really like the strap that much first hand.

So, when I came back from skiing, this was waiting for me and I'm rather pleased with it for the price.

So has the selling though mate. If tomorrow goes well and I come home with the Vacheron, the watchbox will be at I think 12 watches, where it will be staying for the forseeable. The only thing I would jump on would be a cheap Seiko Tuna as a grab and go quartz.

There are a few things I want but time to sit back, take stock, try and keep my job and get to know my daughter.

Just walked out of a meeting... 50% redundancies coming in April... No more buying for me!

Similar age to me. I had a ROO Chrono Panda but moved it on to fund a few purchases, just like I moved on my usernames from my youth wink
