Neil, Chan Purewal here again. I will be there on Oct 2-8. Hope to catch up with u all for a at least a day. I will be moving there for about 9 months on or around jan 15th. I will expanding my business there and am looking for some help. Citigroup, which is the largest company in the world, has a subsidary called Primerica. In the UK they are called CitiSolutions. I will be there to open up tons of offices and hire hundreds if not thousands of people throughout the UK. anyways, just wanted to see if u could turn me on to some people that may want to start up and help out a huge american company expand. looking forward to some great times. do u know what the cost s would be for me to bring the viper with me for those 9 months? would it be worth it? when will i get to drive it if im there in jan?

thanks,
chan

ps u can forward this to any of the guys from the UK VCA. your help is greatly appreicated

My reply:

Bringing a viper from CA in a container is around $6K return, you can sent it just tied to the bed of a ship for around $1500 one way, but you take a chance of it being damaged. A Viper in London traffic if you plan to use it everyday isnt something I'd recommend, you would also need a garage, unfortunately you couldnt leave it in the road over night. Traffic in london is constantly very heavy, think the average speed over a working day is only around 10mph in the City when the traffic is flowing !!!, a bit like NY I'd guess.
Weather wise most hibernate their cars over winter, we dont normally start our club events until around April till the weather picks up, although there will be some nice dry days before hand

I know you can run on USA plates for 12 months here, there's bound to be a few documents required too. Insurance I think will be a big cost, espicially based around London they will price you as a novice driver, previous experience abroad wont count I'm afraid

Good Luck
Neil

Benn there, done that with an American start-up. 1st employee in after the General Manager and built it up to 45 people. Bubble burst and it all went south

However, happy to try again - does he need any IT Consultants with experience of this?
