My Peugeot 205gti (Dimma) Restoration
Discussion
I thought I would post my project on here that I started in november I have allways loved the 205 and have had 5 in my time but allways lusted for a geniune dimma which I came across and had to have it.
Now at first glance it didnt look to bad bodywork needed some tlc and interior needed some work but it didnt seem so bad until I started to take car apart.
Few pics of how I got car.
Once the car started to come apart I found hole in boot floor, headlight panel and inner wings rotton,Bootlid rotten and i also removed the kit to find sills will need replacing and rear arches need some work.
Rotton Headlight panel
Rotten innerwings
Rotten Sill
Some people keep telling me to scrap it a reshell the car but I have not let any of this beat me and have made a start on repairs to front.

So I started by removing all the rotten parts from the front and started to refit parts I have got and so far so go all going well both wings now welded into position and have made a start fitting the new headlight panel aswell just have to tidy some welds up.
Innerwings removed
New parts fitted and welded

These days, I really don't like to see cars with none factory bodykits, especially old school cars like the 205 GTi. However, I was talking about modified cars just before Christmas with friends and the 205 Dimma cropped up in the conversation and it seems to be something that we all agree, they do look great, something with presence.
Can't wait to see how this progresses OP. I really liked the Dimma back in the day, something i would have loved to own

Looking back to my younger years, wide arch kits was a popular thing. X pack kits on the RS2000 and Capris, Dimma 205's, Dimma and Skeete Renault 5 Turbos and very wide BMW and Ford Escorts from Reiger.
Don't forget the Mattig Astras Great looking car OP, good luck with the restoration.
