Anyone just watch that? A sitcom about an EOD team in Afghanistan really shouldn't work but it does, I'm guessing they had a few ex squaddies involved because they seem to have got the mindset about right.

Recorded it, I'll watch it tonight. Just seen some twitter chat about it being a version of Gary Tank Commander without the accents. People who hadn't seen GTC liked it though. I'll see how it goes.

I think you're right, the usual attempts leave me cringing with what university graduates writing screenplays seem to think is squaddie humour. This seems spot on smile

Just watched. I liked it, as said above, decent mix of characters and the army humour was pretty well done.

Someone told me last week that Greg McHugh was considering legal action about this series. Not sure how true that is but it does seem like a very similar concept.

Must admit that the Padre (Kelly Adams) would be enough for me to turn to religion!

If there was one reason to watch this programme, she is it!

Very much enjoyed it. Just watched it on planned and laughed all the way through. How rough do you have to be to look better with full infantry gear on though (Bird)?

Just caught up with the first 2 episodes, had me laughing like a drain, the missus looked at me like I was on something.

Saw epi 1 on iplayer - is it me, or does the scenery look more like upland UK than dusty arid parched war zone?

And the CIA man - Mike McShane (one time stalwart of Who's Line etc etc), not seen him since the Air Canada ads.

This theme has potential...(and possibly more watchable than Hurt Locker).

Filmed in South Africa apparently. If you watched the BBC series "Our War", which used footage shot by soldiers in Afghanistan, it doesn't look that different to be honest.

I found it very poor to be honest. As a Scot, I have watched most of the Gary Tank Commander episodes. This just seems like a poor copy with English rather than Scottish accents. I switched off halfway through.
