Silvio "ladies man" Berlusconi sentenced to a year in prison. More trials to come.

The man seems intent on doing EVERYTHING in life, including time behind bars hehe Although I fully expect him to nudge and wink his way out of this and any other prison time heading his way.

And by some curious "administration error" Mr Berlusconi will be spending his year inside at the Verona Women's Correctional Facility for the Criminally Nymphomaniac.

There's more chance of UKIP winning the next GE outright than Silvio serving a day behind bars imho.

You gotta love Italy.

This does smack of politically expedient timing though...

Bakground: I didn't voted for him, nor I support his views.

Facts: he was involved in the trial because his brother owns a newspaper that first published, thefollowed the subsequent day by all others, a phrase said by the leader of the left party to the CEO of Unipol, a then small insurance company that is know to be heavily linked with the party "We have a bank!" following the acquisition of Antonveneta from ABN Amro. This led the prosecutor to claim that he got an advantage and was pulling the levers behind the title of the newspaper.....

Another interesting fact is that since last week election he has been investigated into two other trials, one regarding the fact that an MP, like many other before in both ways, moved in 2006 from the left to the centre right coalition, hence, according to the prosecutor, clear proof of bribery, then a second investigation started because according to the charge, his, and note, only his, election promises are deemed to be exchange vote....

Now since he entered in politics in 1994 he has been subjected to 28 trials, all of which, if not yet running, ended with him accquitted from charges.

He's for sure not the most clean and perfect person on earth, but you must credit to him that some of this actions are deliberate political attacks by the judicial power.

In Italy, if the sentence is fewer than 2 years and the offender is 75 or over, they don't have to go to prison.

That's interesting.

I wonder will they press ahead with excluding those with criminal convictions then, that'll him and Grillo taken care of.
