Sad news for me, he was my Guitar hero, has died aged 68.

The lead guitarist who formed Ten Years After. A very underrated, and sadly ignored guitarist. At the height of his fame, when TYA were at their peak, a band who toured the USA more than any other british band, including the Beatles He turned his back on fame and fortune, in an interview he said he did not want to be a superstar, he just wanted to play music, and that when he left this planet, he simply wished to be remembered as a musician.

Lets hope hIs wishes come true.

RIP Alvin, and thank you for some wonderful music, you're Going home Alvin.

R.I.P.

Thanks to Alvin and T.Y.A, as a teenager I discovered there was more to music than the pop charts.
Shame he never received a wider acceptance in the UK.

Condolences.
No fun when you keep hearing day in, day out, that we're all living longer.
My mum and dad both died at 56 years of age.

So far I'm beating them by some years.

As Alvin Lee used to belt out

'You rolypoly
All over town
But you come on back to me
When things are down'
