The front bumper on my DB9 is starting to show its six years of age. There are a couple of scuffs and chips, they were there when I bought the car but now I'm thinking about getting it tidied up. It should be a simple re-spray, although I'm aware that to do a good job, the bumper should be removed from the car, and the new paint blown into the wings and bonnet.

Any recommendations for this in the London area? Has anyone had this done? Cost?

Whilst am on the subject, I would like to get my wheels refurbished. There are numerous companies out there that I could call, but it's always good to start with a recommendation. I'm particularly concerned about the tyre sensors being triggered. Any ideas?

Cheers

I see no reason to remove the bumper? confused

I had the whole front end of my car resprayed; bumper, bonnet, wings and windscreen rails when I had the DBS bonnet fitted, cost 1600 quid and the work is fantastic. Had it done via Nick Mee, they use a bodyshop in Weybridge, don't know the name, sorry!

So scale it down for just the bumper and blending, for bonnet only and blending it was a quote of 800 quid but I wanted to go the whole hog. I reckon that sounds about right.

Wheels... no idea for Londn though no doubt Nick Mee will have high quality people they use, Bamford Rose (near Gaydon) did mine and did an amazing job.

And not an oily rag in sight at either place!

Take it down to sl restorations in crawley. They take great pride in their work. Ask for Nick.

Whoever you choose get them to do a sample for you. Most body shops will probably have an old piece of plastic bumper knocking about so get them to spray it and to even make a note of the gun they use.

That way, you'll have a good idea of the colour match and final finish. Good luck and take your time choosing.

P.S Bamford Rose took care of my bumper re spray and given CSG seems to be the worlds toughest colour to match, the result was fantastic. Get venture shield fitted, too. The car will stay looking like new for longer.

Thanks for that smile

I remember going to see my car there and seeing their workshop with a few DB4 and DB5s in there bing painted. At that point, I knew it was going to be a VERY good job yes
