I had bought this car for £9k from the same dealer last year: http://www.approved.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/details...

I rejected the car after it had been delivered (happy to provide feedback if anyone is interested) but just noticed it is being re-advertised £6k higher !

Impressive!

Not sure, even after any faults remedied,it's worth that kind of money! Seems excessive to me. Not even ultra low mileage. Lovely colour leather though. I have an E46 330Ci Sport with same colour combo.

Its hard to understand why miles would play a part if the car is perfect or in very good condition. 50k over 11 years is a really tiny amount. But that car doesn't appear to have many options fitted, what was the score? I paid less for an AUC car recently that was fully spec'd but with 30k extra on the clock.

From what i've noticed (of the e39s as well as e46s) a lot of traders seem to be proactively picking up the good examples of M cars and non Ms alike, and then waiting however long it takes to get the inflated price since there isn't many other examples to choose from. Compared to 6 months ago anyway there is definitely a lot more being sold by traders than privately. This gives the impression they are rising but IMO they do still have a fair amount to depreciate yet.

I think purely due to the fact so many E46's are modified and owned by "enthusiasts" who really are enthusiastic about making it look like a CSL or whatever, the good clean unmodified cars with a good history are definitely appreciating.

I agree though, until the E92's fall into the price bracket of these enthusiasts, the cars doing the rounds in these circles still have more to depreciate.

Was Heritage leather really a £6k option. That sounds like a shed-load for slightly different looking leather.

In terms of other options it says it has 'Press Preparation'. Ex-BMW press fleet??

If anyone is interested in specifics, pls drop me a pm. Nothing earth shattering, but combination of issues meant that I wasn't happy to accept it.

I think they are trying to re-coup some of the cost of getting it ready for sale.

A friend of mine test drove it before xmas and it sounded like a good car.

Indeed to get approved onto AUC it can cost a few grand just to get it to spec

That car has a big history gap though. I made an enquiry about it when it came up on the BMW website for a few weeks earlier in the year and that length of history gap unfortunately made it a no go for me. I do wonder how BMW even accepted that car with that history gap as an approved used car to be honest.

Time gap. Between 2006-2011 had no recorded servicing or trip to any BMW workshop if I recall correctly. Mileage went from approx 30k to 48k in that time period.

Congrats, that is a lovely car. I had a good look at it some time ago and thought it was all round in excellent condition.

its only overpriced if it was more than you were willing to pay for it (you bought it so it wasnt) and when some internet/pub expert recons its only worth 5k because he's seen one on Ebay for that much
