Doesn't exist anymore apparently, to be fair it was debatable if it ever has existed but I was told today all goodwill is carried by the centre ie dealer.

Anyone confirm or deny this ?

I'd be surprised if they don't have a goodwill budget at H/O.

I got a goodwill gesture recently at my local dealer - I just suspected it was a dealer budget thing.

For particular cases a dealer can apply to Audi UK for a goodwill contribution. The dealer will need to have diagnosed the fault and will not accept a 3rd party doing this.

The reason this has came up, a bi xenon lamp on my S5 went.

I know not under warranty so chargeable - £280 list (Incl.parts, labour, VAT)

Dealer discounted the above mainly with labour without myself pushing, I have no gripe with the centre and travel 75miles each way for this dealer to look after the car due to the good service they provide.

I spoke to Audi CS to try and get more, unaccaptable failure in my eyes on a prestige car. After 24hrs they cameback stating it's at the dealers discretion to apply goodwill, Audi themselves provide no support and haven't for the past 12 months. They had went back to the dealer and tried to pressure them into applying more goodwill ! That wasn't the purpose of the call I was happy with dealer response I wanted the Audi brand to put some cash in the pot.

My thoughts are good dealer, sht product. The centre are left facing an un happy customer unless THEY cave in and empty their own pocket.

My thoughts are move away from the Audi brand due to numerous failures and no central support whilst still paying a premium for non premium reliability. Surely only so much financially the dealer can take on the chin before saying no and me moving into a BMW, Merc. etc.

Meanwhile in the BMW and Merc forums.....

Was it the lamp that went? You can get them waaaay cheaper than the dealers charge. And they usually go in pairs so the other one will fail any minute. wink

I know I know BMW and Merc have their faults also !!

I've heard the pair scenario also.....if it happens I'll be using it as a trade in/buy another Audi Bargaining tool biggrin

My AUC A6 had a Xenon go 5 months into the warranty. No joy with the dealer. Audi quoted £320 to supply and fit the bulb yikes

I bought two exact same spec bulbs for £40, recommended by someone on here, and fitted it myself in the same time that Audi quoted, 1 hour. Had no issues since. I found a good guide on the web.

I bought a spare in case the other side went.

I fail to see why you are blaming Audi for a 3rd party supplied consumable going wrong earlier than expected?

I emailed Audi UK customer services asking if they were going to offer the extended warranty owners in the USA and Canada benefit from due to early TFSI fuel pump follower failures, a rude individual that refused to give his full name rang and told me they weren't aware of any such issues and weren't offering any assistance. Probably just coincidence Audi modified the design then rolleyes.

In China they've extended the warranty on DSG boxes to 10 years.

Funny how in the emerging market's Audi are more than happy provide the cover we (the Europeans) want but where they have a well established foothold (Europe again im afraid!) they are happy not to provide the service we expect and have paid a premium for.

I bought a one owner 05 A4 Avant, with full up to date main dealer history, just under a year ago. I was going to keep up the main dealer history for a while but the attitude of Customer service and to an extent the service dept gave me the impression they weren't really interested in older cars. Parts dept was ok though.

FWIW I just had an offer of a good will gesture from Audi UK for a failed DMF on a 57 plate A6. Too late though, an independent garage is already fixing it. Audi are being very helpful though.

Had a bulb go in mine this time last year. Know an Audi centre tech so asked him for trade cost if bulb. He said there was a known fault with the bulbs so get car booked in. I did & blub was replaced gratis!
