She says he exposed her to an “unnecessary risk of injury” after the 999 call because of a lack of lighting or warning about the risk.
Answering a call-out in darkness she should have used a torch. Simple!

If she's successful I expect the burglar will be claiming he a twisted ankle while making his getaway too.

This is a private case and if she looses she will have court fees to pay! Lack of information I think you wouldn't sue for tripping just on a curb surely!

Not only is she fat she looks thick. What use is she as an officer, clumsy and how exactly is she going to chase anybody let alone fight somebody.

The owner was interviewed and claims she just got up never mentioned any injury. 7 months later he gets a letter

This country! Litigation mad, follow the US like lemmings over the cliff.

When I heard this I thought I wonder if she's nim and trim like cops used to be? Wonder how old she is?

What a surprise!

I doubt that she will. She will have a 'no win no fee' agreement in place and After The Event insurance will pick up the bill.

"The letter concludes the 999 call-out ‘exposed our client to an unnecessary risk of injury."

This woman needs to be sacked. The risk was it was night.

She says he didn't turn the lights on. Did he know there was nobody hiding in the building? Why didn't she have a torch.

The image of today's bobby. Well, one of 'em. Makes you feel so reassured doesn't it?
I'll sleep safe tonight with no fear.
Think, you can call on their help and they'll be there in the flash of a torchlight, or not as the case may be.

As mentioned in the article I can't believe that the home office will allow anything to come of this. Imagine the precedent it would set. People need to start taking responsibility for their own clumsiness.

Yep.

I should have said 'will she look like what I'm thinking she will look like?' if you get my drift.

And... yep!

As I bib how do you view the story?

Very disappointing, and not doing the rest of us any favours.

Is it my imagination, but are coppers getting fatter these days? Or maybe I'm getting thinner.
