So after a long battle with polyps, its time for my first pet to be put at rest all started out with a smelly ear infection, anti-biotics did her no good, so big operation removing ear canal, ear drum, cartilage and inserting a tube out of her neck to drain the infection away, all seemed good! Them the smell came back, her ear had gone rotten and died, so straight back to the vet, ear removed and sewed back up! So we had our 1 eared puss back! All going well with medication, things lucking good for her! Then 2 days ago, she stopped eating, drinking, moving, but still purring... been back to the vet today and they have said there is a growth on the inside of her neck pushing on her brain tonight and tommorow morning are going to be horrible, booked in for her final sleep tommorow and I'm dreading it... 1st family member to leave us and only 11 years old poor little cat put a big heavy weight on my heart

I'm so sorry . So much dedication to her to give her every chance and so unlucky with the way it progreesed but sadly it is time and it is the right decision for her now.

I hope this comes across as it's meant...

I read this earlier and didn't post but the thought went thru my mind I hope she does exactly what she did and dies naturally with you tonight. Somehow I think sometimes animals hang on and hang on and then when you've made the decision they can go without 'worry' about leaving you. My OH says I give too much intelligence / intellect / whatever to my cats but I know what I believe and what I've experienced and I strongly believe you encountered it too tonight.

Thankyou for your thoughts, I believe this also.. I took Emily to The vets at 9am, then lay her by the fire till I got home, as soon as I sat down with her she did her final few breaths... its as if she was waiting for me to come home and be with her before she passed away
