Anyone bought new recently?
Looking for advice on what's negotiable on a new car (to my spec) or on a dealer pre reg.

Looking specifically at a Rapide S.
Have been looking at 11/12 Rapides, but dealer has made noises like they can offer a 'great deal' so just want to get an idea if this could be a good enough option to make dropping 110k on a late 12 Rapide pointless..

Drop me a pm with your thoughts if you prefer. Thanks folks smile

There is always a deal to be had! Shop a few dealerships give them the spec that you would like , then tell that at close of business on that day you will be ordering a car. Call Rachel at H.R.Owen in Cheltenham she is very professional. I also happen to know that they are currently flying sales wise so they will be more than anxious to maintain momentum. Good Luck, owning an Aston Martin is like no other!!

Ask the dealer about "factory incentives" on new model releases wink
I got a good deal on a new Vantage S as they released them and wanted some on the road ASAP.

Useful thanks.
Saw the incentives on DBS and Rapide last year and they were pretty useful, if they are doing something similar I might be tempted.

If you are what Aston dealers view as high net worth you'll be offered some very good interest rates. I was recently offered an interest free deal on a new Vantage S roadster - and then found exactly what I was looking for but one year old. Saved a fortune - although interest rate went up to around 3%. I just bought from Stratstone Western Avenue in London and they have a lovely Rapide S in stock. Call 0208 752 8720 and ask for Pietro (feel free to mention that Chris with the Vantage S roadster sent you his way) Happy hunting!

Never really understood this, high net worth being offered good financing deals. Interest free, yes, obviously i understand that.

Access to finance is still pretty straightforward if you pick the right lender and have a good rating.

For example, social housing is a priority lending area for the Coop Bank so I had no problem whatsoever accessing £5.9m from them last year at libor + 1.78125% (2.8% to you and I)

It's just knowing where to look smile

I'm assuming that there is a kickback of some kind to the salesperson ???

Perhaps to balance out the loss of any original discount to the buyer ?? smile

Sounds good, though not quite the £20k Dealer Discount I've experienced. smile

Just seen an email header from Stratstone's offering £16k dealer contribution towards a V12V, £20k on a Rapide and a deposit contribution on a V12VR. Would be interesting to know if they could find you the latter but some great deals about.

I think i have mentioned this before on the forum somewhere but when I was purchasing my current car from a main dealer last year the sales man tried to get me to buy a new one.
He said that he could get me a deal that would remove 20% off the ticket price as I was grumbling about the VAT. He also offered 0% finance for a period of time, and after that period ended, he said I could have finance on a very low rate, actually less than I could get interest on my money, so the finance was still effectively 0%.

I declined as I hate the fact that as soon as you drive a car out of the showroom they lose a huge chunk of value. It was a VERY tempting offer though!
