Hi All,

Close to pulling the trigger on the Mk3 headlamp conversion and would love to see some pics of it done to dark coloured (preferably dark blue) Chimaeras. I'm not a huge fan of the lupos and the thick band around the Steve Edwards kit is putting me off that one so I think the full Mk3 conversion is for me but I'm a little bit nervous around the more permanent nature of this conversion. Oh, and dropping £700 and not loving it!

So pictures please if you got 'em!

Cheers!

Just my tuppence worth......I think they look great. Not keen on the Tuscan type conversions on Chims but the faired in ones look great IMHO.

Hoping to get mine back on Friday with the conversion done, car colour is Highland Pearl so unfortunately not too dark, but will be posting piccies...

Mr Plow, are those black sprayed Estorils you have on your car? looks stunning, more pics would be excellent (sorry not trying to hijack..)

Cheers Mate. They sure are, centre caps have been taken off, they are Antricite in colour (not sure if spelling is right?) The fronts have the wrong tyres on in the photo and the ride height is wrong, all sorted now, I couldn't wait to get them on though to see what they looked like. smile (obviously lights have also changed since this photo was taken)

Cheers

The faired in headlight make a vast difference to the front IMO, takes away the MGB lookwhistle

well if you want to be more accurate the look your referring to is that of several late 50's / early 60's sports cars (open headlights with a scallop to the wings/bonnet) rather than originating with MG

Anyone thought of doing it and decided not to, and have a set of the covers that they no longer want / need ?.

The Mk3 Headlamp conversion looks really good, just finishes the front of the car.

Can people stop posting these pictures now, its making me want to spend money doing mine!

Have any of you upgraded to hid lighting when you had the conversion done, it makes such a difference with the light output!

I can't believe I'd not seen this conversion before. Looks really good. Suits the character of the car much more than the Tuscan style lights IMHO. thumbup

If anybody has done this conversion with one of the DIY kits, (not the Steve Heath conversion) apart from getting pods sprayed, how difficult was it to install?

Many thanks
