Check this out, UK passport holders seem to get singled out for exorbitant visa costs. That's one destination I can cross off my list.

Anyone know why such a high cost?

And from what I can see, you cannot get an electronic visa like you can get for Oz.

UK charges £80. Compare that to a Schengen visa which gets you all over Europe.

Quite common, called reciprocal charges. For a place that big I can see it as worth it. I jumped through hoops and paid more than that to get a Russian one and China is a PITA. That would put me off a week visit but for three or four that is only a few quid a day.
