Out of interest, where was that pic taken? Looks like somewhere in Yorks maybe..
Not quite.

Taken just outside the entrance to Strathmore Volvo in Perth.

Recently acquired (ebay) from USA and shipped over, just arrived a couple of weeks ago.
Now the real work begins.

Stripped, bead blasted, and buffed to bare metal.
Hmmm . . . beginning to look like its being converted to a DeLorean.

Now a coat of etching primer to stop all that bare metal being laid to rust.

Ahhh! One day, one day.

Very nice. Much prefer these S60's in a dark colour. The silver doesn't seem to age very well.

They do don't they. Mine could do with a front end repaint as its pebble dashed to buggery and the wheels need painting again....

What I'd really like though is that C30 above cloud9

Picked up this 53 plate s60 d5 as a replacement for the poor little mk4 golf runabout behind it - fairly poverty spec trim but I dont know if the BBS wheels where a factory option or not.

plenty of car for the money and fits the brief pretty well! managed to get hold of a DICE unit so got rid of the SRS light triggered by a flat battery at some point. Looks like the clutch position sensor needs changing along with the siren, but not the end of the world !

That C30 is really nice. Dead Jealous/

@MAdcowman - I think they must have been an option as i have seen a fair few with those wheels on. they do look good.

Cracked a Milestone last week... roll on a quarter mill!

Although she's now dropping water from somewhere around the back of the engine.

Must climb under and take a look, I assume its lower water hose seeping?

Just remembered I hadn't uploaded a decent photo of my V40. This one is from a few months ago. Still absolutely loving it.

That is until some small minded [insert multitude of swearing] decided to break into it (or try to) last week. It is currently in the bodyshop to get a new rear door, rear 3/4 panel, quarter light window and window trim. As of tomorrow it'll have been in the bodyshop for a week and it'll still be at least a further 2 weeks before I get it back. It was impressive that they didn't get in but that in itself added to the magnitude of damage done. I'm now worrying that the repair will be extremely noticeable...

Just got myself a 2007 V70 D5 (185) SE manual with full service history. Lovely car, loads of grunt, really smooth and love the 5 cylinder sound. Fingers crossed I can reach that kinda mileage in it... it's just got 65,000 on it now.

Indeed it has.

So here's some pictures of when I recently ripped my 60 apart to do the cam belt.

Kit.

Starting the dismantle.

Old v New tensioner.

Belt off.

Old v New water pump.

Not an easy job to do on your own but managed it. I think I could do it quicker next time as this took me about 4.5 hours.

I think i may have posted piccies of my 760 a while back. However things have moved on since then...

I still have the 760, it still doing well, now up to 85,000 miles. the old girl is down at a really good classic car garage having a little bit of fettling done to ensure she can live for another 26 years. Jobs include a replacement front wing (which I got off Ebay for twenty quid), tidy up the rear arches and sort out a few dings on the bodywork. Plus the wheels need a refurbish and when I get the old bus back I shall be fitting a new headlining as it's all gone saggy.

In the meantime I accidentally ended up with a 1992 940 Wentworth. This has only done 200,000 miles and has a knackered cam. However it still drove up from London to Aberdeen and didn't miss a beat. Also the speedo doesn't work and the interior is really grim. But it only cost me £200! I already have a spare engine and gearbox coming to do a swap and an interior should be arriving next week.

The new interior and all teh spares I should need are coming courtesy of this:

A 940 Turbodiesel that has only done 250,000 miles. It has had a new interior fitted but the owner has lost his storage space so needs to get rid. It is full of spares too which will be handy.

I have no idea what it is with these old wagons. They seem to be a bit like automotive heroin. I never intended to own one, let alone three of them...

Anyway, once the Wentworth is done the wife is getting it. Not sure what to do with the Turbodiesel. Could make a really smokey drift car once the interior is out!
