Looks good. Thinking of using this but have no android devices currently.
Does anyone know what the cheapest option would be for a 5 to 6" screen that is known to work?

Ps the red arrow on the speedo looks a bit incriminating!

You could have 2 needles on the speedo, one GPS and one from the diff sensor. As you say with that much input data there are lots of possibilities for data logging for racing etc, graphs of any given parameters. If it was hard wired into the car it could also act as a tracker. This is the kind of thing I would expect Les Edgar to do if and when he revives the cars - fully digital/configurable dashboard. Would be fun to change the actual dash for a tablet smile

Thanks!

K4TRV has a HUDL2 working, perhaps he can confirm??

The Red Arrow was left over from testing at home earlier, I didn't reset it before I went out for a spin smile

The diff sensor feeds the speedo directly I believe, so not available via the ECU unfortunately. But for tracking, the WheresMyDroid app would be perfect.
For logging and graphing data I'll probably just add a timestamped csv log of all data to begin with.. Stored in the same dir as the saved layouts so people can email or copy it somewhere to play with. Graphing will might not happen for while though...
Best wishes

Yea it could become all-consuming festooning the app with features.
Judging from the Rev and throttle pot max readings I would say you were taking it quite easy smile

Aide, sorry to go off topic for a moment but i do like your water temp figures, do you have a cooling mod or is that just due to ambient temperatures at the moment?
Simon.

Hi Simon, I fitted a second water pump and microcontroller that controls the pump speed and fans based on water temperature. It never goes over 88 degrees, even in summer uphill city traffic jams.
The pump is a Pierburg CWA200 and the Controller is from a guy I Germany (I got him to mod the firmware on mine to make the target temperature range narrower and more granular)

Hi Aude, two things:

1) unfortunately the splitter lead from the US allows my phone to charge but not to read the ECU

2) If I turn ignition off and back on with the app connected, I have to unplug the lead to get the app to start reading properly again. Any chance of a "reset inputs" button or somesuch?

Hi
Looking to potentially get this app and the leads for a 2005 T350C. I have a few questions please:

1) Can you tell me if the oil pressure and oil temperature are able to be shown on your dials and recorded, as this is something I look at regularly on mine.
2) how far away is the blue tooth option?
3) does all the data get captured from the app to load to a PC for review?

Thanks, Nige

I really can't help you on this one, there are just too many cables out there and I can't test every one - the ones on the PlayStore listing work perfectly fine though.

I see what you mean there, I'll automate that bit so that it reconnects.

Best wishes

Hi Nige

All the data that's gathered and displayed comes from the ECU.

Oil pressure is only available from the ECU on Speed Six cars. So it was left out purely because I have a V8. Oil Temperature is separate and (AFAIK) not fed to the ECU, so only oil pressure is potentially available (with a code change).

Bluetooth is on the cards, but I don't have any specific date and wouldn't like to promise a wireless option and have people waiting for something that might not materialize on time.

However, it's actually not really difficult to add Bluetooth support, it's just that I'm pretty busy elsewhere and I think that concentrating on first adding gps support - so that I can log all the engine stats along with accurate speed, acceleration, time, location and altitude data - is the best use of my time over the next few weeks.

I think you misundersdtand me. We were taking about the ability to charge while running the app. I wanted to let you know that the vAlarm splitter lead discussed earlier in this thread doesn't work on my HTC.

I have, and use, the leads recommended in your Play store listing.

Excellent, thanks. I've been using the app a lot while troubleshooting my bouncing lambda feeds. I look forward to seeing this along with all the other upgrades wink

Finally got around to permanently fixing my cables into my ECU using the 90 degree bend and it worked really well, just needed to make a small notch in the side of the casing to allow me to put the lid back on.

Cables all run up behind the 6x9 and out under the stereo. The Galaxy Mega has a folding case so it now sits as a triangle in the centre console.

(the white iPhone cable in the pic is my phone connecting to the head unit)
