Sri Lanka attractions/recommendations

Hi all..

we're off to Sri Lanka as part of our honeymoon soon, and are searching for recommendations of must-see attractions...

our route is:

Colombo > Habarana (2 nights) > Kandy > Nuwara Eliya (2 nights) > Yala

Yala is obviously for hte safari side of things... and Habaran for visiting Sigiriya.

What else should we not miss out on during this tour?
We're going via car/driver (Kuoni)...

Any tips appreciated.

For me, the two must see attractions are the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, and the Elephant Sanctuary (I think this is on the road between Colombo and Kandy).

Hope you've got a head for heights ... you'll need it climbing up that rock! I only made it half way then I turned into a wuss and waited for the group to come back down!

Kuoni do this tour very very well so you will have a great time and they will make sure that you see all the best attractions. All you guys will have to do is enjoy it

we're doing a custom itinerary rather than one of their pre-made tours (as we wanted more time in Yala, and to change some of the hotels).

I like heights, so Sigiriya should be good

Yup, elephant sanctuary at Pinnewala was already on the must-see list
I'll have a look into the Tempple of the Tooth @ Kandy, good tip.
