I've said it before and I'll say it again - new DB9 the best value car in the range
It has most of the performance of vanquish, the adjustable suspension, classic timeless looks and substantially cheaper. nothing against vanquish, but you don't get a lot more for the money
It's a fairly safe bet that all the cars in the range including DB9 will get vanquish style centre console soon, which will reduce the advantages of vanquish even more
+1 Jonby - oh for a manual version thoughIt has most of the performance of vanquish, the adjustable suspension, classic timeless looks and substantially cheaper. nothing against vanquish, but you don't get a lot more for the money

Yeah... that's the same thing
The point I was making was that the manual is an antiquated way of changing gear. It's got to go. The only people who want it are a tiny percentage of the target market who don't seem to want to move on... so in a way, yes it's quite a similar thing to what I was getting at George29 said:

George I have two paddle shift cars and AFAIK both of them have a gearbox that AM should be using Y100 said:

The Vanquish is indeed Flugplatz Blue, as confirmed by several reviews of the press car in the photos.
So, does it have another name (like Ellwood), or are they two different colours that are imperceptibly different unless side by side? Like the imperceptible difference between Racing Green and Aston Martin Green unless side by side in the same photo.
In either case, these colour(s) don't show up in the Aston colour pallette of choices.

To my eye the images of Ellwood and Fluplatz are identical. So, does it have another name (like Ellwood), or are they two different colours that are imperceptibly different unless side by side? I suspect Flugplatz may be a Bezism of Ellwood

I don't know why I didn't check this before, but...
The Dupont site lists a POWDER/FLUGPLATZ BLUE for 2013. So the colour does have 2 names, but not Ellwood. And Ellwood is not even listed, but that doesn't mean it is not an Aston colour, since there are several AM colours not listed in that database.
I guess w/o a colour code, it is all just educated guessing.

Thank you all (and you know who you are) for driving this topic into the ditch.
How we got arguing about brakes and transmissions and specs, when I was asking about a colour, is beyond me. No, wait, this is the AM Pistonheads forum...nevermind.
