Dieppe to Marseille in a day?
Discussion
We're planning to head for Marseille, then ferry to Sardinia. Is it feasible to get early ferry Newhaven to Dieppe, then make Marseille by that evening to catch Sardinia ferry, anyone done this? The other possibility (totally different Iknow) is to head for one of the Italian ports and catch a boat from Genoa/Livorno/Rome. Again, any experiences of this sort of trip, and cost comparisons. Thanks in advance for your help.
Dieppe to Marseille in a day? With fuel, toll queues and rest stops and avoiding Les BIB you're looking at 10 hours minimum. You'll be knackered by the time you get to Lyon which is a real pisser to get through at the best of times. Much better to stop for the night around Dijon/Beaune.

I do Calais (Eurotunnel) to east of Nice regularly (in a day from London).
Yes you can do it in a day. With 2 drivers a breeze.
A long range diesel car is the quickest option due to fewer fuel breaks.
Get a telepass for the peage to help you beat the queues at some of the toll booth hotspots (e.g. Lyon)

Stick the requirements into www.viamichelin.com and see what it comes up with.
