Hi all

Does anyone know anything about the alarm system fitted as standard in the cars recently? I ask as at 3.31 last night I was woken by an alarm. There were no lights flashing on any of the cars but after randomly pressing the buttons on the key fobs for mini, RRS and db9 the alarm fell silent.

Back to sleep until 6.31! When the same thing happened again this time the sound did seem to be coming from the Aston so I focused on pressing that fob. After three unlocks and then locks the Noise sort of fizzled to a stop. So was the aston.

Anyone have any ideas? Not gone off again since. Rang am assist at 6.30. Explained the situation and they said "so what sort of assistance are you expecting?" Resisting the massive urge to say something sarcastic I calmly said "we'll I would like some assistance in having the alarm checked so it doesn't go off through Sunday and then overnight to Monday". Thy logged the call and said they would get someone out to me, probably about midday.

Anyway just out to start the car to see if there is an error message. Any ideas appreciated.

Hi

Just an update. Am assist arrived. Excellent service, arrived by 11. Unfortunately there are 16 errors showing in the immobiliser system so the car will now be taken away into secure storage as they can't guarantee it is secure and then onto the dealer tomorrow.

Hmmmm. Not happy.

I have nothing helpful to say smile but I don't think this is really common, at least not a TADTS, or more people would complain about it in here.

So in the past month of Aston experience the new car has been taken away twice- Aston look and sound lovely but I could never own something this badly made!

Blue Satin,

Totally agree..fantastic looking and sound amazing but you wouldn't see issues like this on German performance cars...

Sorry to hear your issues Josh but it sounds like the High Spec PATS alarm system has a couple of gremlins - could be the perimeter sensing being a bit over sensitive.

New cars can suffer from issues and it is annoying - 3 of my last 14 BMWs have been returned within 7 days for similar issues so I find the above claim a bit difficult to believe. frown
