I'm never sick I mean never I havent had a day off sick in 5 ahd a half years until last monday when I got this sodding flu.

I cant shake it amd I definatley dont feel good to drive.

I feel woozy light headed and slightly weak, a couple of hours sleep and I wake up ok then as soon as I use any effort ( even loading the dishwasher ffs ) I feel like crap again.

somone else please tell me youve had this and it ends soon as I'm going nuts here frown

My OH had it, and it got to the point where we went off to chat to the medical sorts, who diagnosed pneumonia. Quick blast of antibiotics, and voila! If it's hanging around, worth a go.

I did see the quack who told me it was just flu even after my protestations that I'm never sick.

You could have said Hyundai i10. That would be boring. biggrin

It's almost certainly just the bug that's going around. It's a particularly stty one this year, half of my office of 90 is out with it at the moment and I took a day off sick this week as I felt so terrible.

I don't get colds but I get the 'flu every few years.

Completely wipes me out for a couple of weeks, so you've probably got a few days to go yet.

Well, you're sick now.

If it is the flu, mitigation is all you can do. And moaning. Moaning is good too.

You say 'just' flu but it's a proper legit bloody horrible illness. Stay in bed, take it easy, keep yourself well hydrated and feel better soon.

My old GP always used to say you know when you've really got flu as opposed to a 'bad cold' because you feel like you've been hit by a bus.

As BVD says above it's not "just" flu. I thought I'd had flu before but looking back I'd just had bad colds. When I was struck down by the proper flu a couple of years ago it totally floored me and I was bedbound for the best part of a week and no way could have contemplated driving anywhere. It does leave you very weak and tired and takes a good while to get back to your former healthy self.

I had flu once and the experience felt life threating. You know if you have the flu.

This. I always laugh when people say "I had a day off with flu" or "I am not sure if I have had the flue or not". No you didn't. When you've got the flu, you fking know it".

I had swine flu, that was nice, my wife had it at the same time, she was pregnant, and our 18 month old also had it. Lovely times. All 3 of us. None of us could barely move.
