"Not Going Out"
Discussion
Have only started watching this and it actually has me laughing out loud. Watched the episode about Mario the Plumber/Her Mum and Dad's surprise party and my 12 year old boy was crying with laughter. I have never seen him laugh like that before
So today I have watched the first series which of course is different as Tim Vine is in it and Lee is sharing with an American girl, Megan Dodds
and it's still bloody funny.
Weirdly it's free on Hulu.com but with US ads, 4 breaks in a half hour show, all for US medicine, car insurance, Jeeps, Verizon and some other stuff. Can't see how this series would appeal to Americans with it's very innuendo style humour as well as jokes based on British nostalgia ie Crackerjack

S1 had a different feel to S2 onwards.
IMO is improved with the addition of Miranda (thought I don't much like her elsewhere). It dipped a bit after Tim Vine left but recently it has got a bit better with the quickfire gags.
Overall its still worth a watch.
This season ahsn;t been brilliant but last weeks episode with the suprise party was good.

I never make a point of watching "Not Going Out", but I quite enjoy a quick chuckle if I watch an episode on Catch Up (as I often do).
It's very old fashioned and quite predictable, but it still makes me laugh which is more than can be said of many current comedies.
When was Tommy Ball a Comedian?

Saw lee mack doing his stand up show live last week. At the end of the show he answered any questions and somebody asked "when's Tim coming back to make not going out funny again" He said that he wouldn't be as this current series is looking like the last one they will do.
He's said it'll be the last at all his shows, doesnt have time to write it apparently.Wacky Racer said:
I watched it for the first time, (and I like Lee Mack), but I thought it was rubbish..
The punchlines were SO predictable, like something out of the 1970's......
All (imho)
Moaning about a show which has about about 50 episodes leading up to that point is a bit pointless as you dont have the background info. The punchlines were SO predictable, like something out of the 1970's......
All (imho)
That said, if you don't like those sorts of gags the shows not for you.
