All Academy line up. Ever Happened Before?
Discussion
I was looking at Crewe's team for tomorrow's game and this caught my eye:
England Under-19 keeper Ben Garrett will make his Crewe Alexandra debut against Walsall at Gresty Road.
If skipper Luke Murphy is fit to play following his groin injury, it means the Alex will field an entire team of Academy-produced players.
Just wondered if this had happened before in modern times. Whatever, a really proud achievement!

That's good to hear.
From what I know, the only top European side to come close in recent times would be Barcelona. I remember some stat last year about how they played a starting 11 of academy players but can't be 100% on the accuracy of the first part of the sentence you're currently reading.
I'd love to see a day when academy players regularly dominate teams playing in the Premier League. At the moment it's the polar opposite unfortunately.
